Chapter 41 - Chapter 41

Gong Wu ran over to the jade slip and read it again only to through it away in frustration.

"Damn it this technique can only be used once!"

After he studied the technique more closely Gong Wu learned it was designed only to be used once but considering the benefits it provides it makes sense.

The "Flesh Forging Metamorphic art," completely transforms the physical body.

Improving all aspects of a cultivator's body.

Talent, aptitude, physique, comprehension, and even your ability to perceive the laws of the great Dao.

If this was the case it's perfectly reasonable for it to only be usable once otherwise, it could change the very world itself.

However, there were many ways to increase these attributes individually but not all at once and not usually to a great extent.

That's why it could change the world well at least it would if it wasn't for the technique's extreme level of consumption and its one-time usability.

'So if I can't use it again what can I do now?'

Gong Wu was trapped and although he has grown considerably stronger after transforming his body it wouldn't be enough to fight against an entire sect led by a Nascent Soul expert.

Gong Wu knew all he could do was wait for someone to come and open that door until then he decided to sit down on a nice comfy cushion and rest.

....

In a throne room sat Master Coiling Dragon looking through a mirror that was secretly looking into Gong Wu's room.

This was a top-grade artifact made specifically for spying and as the sect leader looked through it into Gong Wu's room his sinister grin kept getting bigger and bigger.

"I don't believe it something's not right it's not right he's different now it's changed!"

Master Coiling Dragon was losing his mind right now.

He was in utter disbelief at the extraordinary phenomenon he has witnessed.

"Did that boy's special constitution mutate such a remarkable alteration is even rarer than a special constitution itself!"

The number of times this has happened could be counted on one hand and every time it has occurred a monster would appear.

'If I recall correctly his special constitution was focused on his bones but that is no longer the case it is something else but what could it be?'

The sect leader tried to figure out what it could be but he still couldn't come to a conclusion so.

He had to use this mirror's full abilities to pry into his body and see for himself what mysterious existed in his body.

Master Coiling Dragon activated the mystic oculus mirror's full abilities and saw what was inside Gong Wu's body.

*Gasp*

The sect leader gasped when he discovered what Gong Wu's body was turning into.

He began to breathe heavily as his feet stamped his throne until it cracked.

His breathing kept getting heavier and heavier until only volatile booming noises filled the air then suddenly without warning.

A head-splitting cry broke through the air sending shock waves in every direction reducing his throne room to dust.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!"

The sect leader had lost his mind over this astonishing discovery because it just so happened that Gong Wu's newly mutated constitution was just what the sect leader needed to restore his dying body and even vastly improve it.

"It just can't be he is developing a divine body just like the ones a God beast has it is a heavenly gift it must be with this I can seek my revenge against those true dragons who tried to kill me and even enter into the central plains!"

To understand Master Coiling Dragon's maddening excitement first you must know what a God beast is.

God Beasts were the supreme vicious beasts of the entire universe. A God Beast was an existence that approached a true divine God.

Without a doubt, a God Beast from the Realm of the Gods was a high-level existence that had both fearsome bodies and humongous amounts of Qi.

They had powerful bodies and a vast, immeasurable amount of Qi contained within them. Not just that, but they were naturally more suited to the Laws of the Dao than humans, or rather that they were part of the Laws, to begin with.

A God Beast was the beloved of the natural Laws. Their bones were carved with the Laws and their flesh and blood were fused with Dao runes.

Their organs were able to commune with the world. Their bodies were not what human bodies could compare with. They were like amalgamations of the Heavenly Dao, capable of directly accessing and using the power of the world!

A God Beast and a human were two completely different life forms. When a human was born, their comprehension of Laws was nothing, and they would have to completely rely on techniques and their hard-earned comprehension after birth to perceive the Laws.

As for a God Beast, once they were born, the Laws would be engraved into their flesh, their blood, and their bones, becoming an inextricable part of their body. Making every single inch of a God Beast an incomparably precious treasure.

Even if a God Beast's strength was inadequate by relying on their talent and their innate abilities then they could still easily surpass human immortals.

However, No one knew how many God beasts there were in the universe. No one could say for sure, but it was absolutely a minority, they were the Gods of beasts!

There were even types of God Beasts that had only one member. Between the heavens and earth, they were singular. Within the vast universe, they were unique!

Only when this type of unique God Beast died would the next reincarnation of that God Beast appear. This could be said to be a rule of the Heavenly Dao!

Their legendary status was brought about by their divine bodies forged by the laws of the great Dao itself but unfortunately, a Divine Body is brought innately, and only a God beast could be said to possess one.

While some bloodlines or special constitutions could come close to reaching this stage such as those born with Dao bones or those heaven's favorites blessed with monstrous comprehensive ability.

However, in the end, they were just pale imitations and they could never compare to the genuine article.

But even though Divine Bodies only occur naturally being bestowed by the heavens, they can be transplanted from one person to another.

Especially if the Divine Body was in an embryonic stage and has not yet completely formed just like Gong Wu's.

All he had to do was extract it then his injuries would be healed then he could finally leave the Southern lands and regain his former glory.

"Just you wait, you lucky bastard I don't care if you have magically developed a Divine Body it's still isn't complete yet so I can still take it!"

Master Coiling Dragon vanished unusually by slowly fading away like a cloud dissipating into the air.

The Dao ability he cultivated was known as "the Illusionary Nightmare art," which turned him into a living nightmare that was not quite real and not quite fake.

He bordered between reality and dreams fading in and out of this world at random times making him impossible to touch but because his realm was still too low he couldn't touch anything either.

He could only use illusions to torment his opponent to death to win a fight.

This may sound like it didn't work too often but surprisingly he was able to kill countless cultivators like method. Which was why he needed to repair his injured meridians or else he could remain a dream forever or until he eventually lost his mind and committed suicide.

This all happened while Gong Wu was lazily sitting in his room completely unaware that the most difficult fight of his life was soon going to occur.
