Chapter 1 - Chp. 1. - Where am I ?

Screams.

Bright blue explosion.

Darkness.

That's all I can remember. I don't know what happened, but I know that explosion hurt.

I tried opening my eyes, trying to look what's around me. My eyes felt heavy.

Looking around I saw a black charred plain all around me. Rotating my head I saw that the plain stretched all around me until it reached mountains on the horizon.

I slowly started to move my body, trying to sit up. My body's response, was extreme pain coming from my stomach. I looked down to see my red stomach swollen to nearly such size that hid my penis under something balloon like.

I was puzzled with what caused the swelling. Another thing that bothered me was that even though I was naked I didn't feel cold.

Biting my lower lip I sat up through protests of my stomach as I needed to look for water to sustain my growing thirst. Not seeing anything from my sitting position I stood up.

When I stood up I expected my stomach to protest even more but I was met with great revelation. When I am standing I don't feel pain from my stomach.

As I looked around I found out that other than mountains in distance and charred ground, there were no other landmarks.

With no landmark to direct me I just started walking forward praying I will find something.

As I walked I realised a very alarming thing, and that was, that I don't know who I am, where I am or how I know what things like water are.

With my personality crisis I continued to walk, until I fell straight into small shallow hole. Rather than fall, it would be fitting to say I tripped and fell into it.

However I was happy as on bottom of this hole was small water stream, creating small pool of water.

While it didn't grow fast I was still happy as I secured a source of water. With the newfound calming water stream next to me I laid down next to the hole and started thinking how to get food.

This intense thinking finally put me to sleep without coming to conclusion.

When I woke up next day I was met with sight of small green patches emerging from underneath the charred grass. This meant that in no time the grass will start to grow again leaving the charred pieces only as fertiliser for its growth.

Looking at the water pool I saw that during night it grew and now was so big I could stretch my elbow across it. However it was so shallow I could just dip my hands in to drink from the pool.

After drinking what little of water accumulated during night I decided that this spring will become my new base of operations.

Next thing on my checklist, of survival, was food. While water was already accounted for, having no food was just as bad as having no water.

However because the ground was still charred in most parts I doubted that some kind of food would really grow on the plains. This was a very bad predicament I found myself in and so I started brainstorming ideas on how to acquire food.

Then it dawned on me just like humans, plants also need the same basic things to live. With this knowledge I uprooted a patch of nearest green grass. Keeping close attention so that I uprooted them with roots.

I then put the grass with roots in my mouth. While it didn't taste very good it was needed, so that I would survive.

With my stomach full of grass I downed it with a couple of slurps of cold water from the small pond that created in the hole.

After that I noticed that my stomach hurt much less and it also didn't swell so much. This was welcome change as the pain would sometimes wake me up in middle of night.

With my stomach full, I laid down to sleep until next day.
