Raine woke up the next morning feeling quite as normal, the only difference was she was a bit more annoyed than usual which could be associated to the woman who took over more than three quarter of her bed-space; Xu Ying.
It was one thing to have the most eventful and fitful sleep of the century and it was another headache to wake up to the whistling of the said person who caused the unrest. Raine was really contemplating shooting her cousin for world peace.
"Wakey, wakey, Raine. Let's go for a run, I've not run with a partner for so long that I'm really looking forward to one." Xu Ying chirped as she pulled the duvet off of Raine, exposing Raine's perfectly toned body clad in a white silk negligee laced with teal blue chantilly lace on the bodice.
"Oh, now this is a beauty I do not mind waking up to." She whistled as she admired Raine. To get a better view, she adjusted and stared intently at Raine's body. "How could you look so perfect and not be fake. Where was I when your genes was getting shared? I would have stolen a bit..." She said as she looked at her flat chest and pouted.
"Has anyone told you that you are a living pest especially in the morning? You may be my favorite cousin but I am one minute away from blowing your brains." Raine drawled as she sat up straight and stretched her arms. With the stretch of her arms, the hemming of her negligee jumped up to her navel, revealing her teal blue lingerie.
Before Xu Ying could make a comment on it, Raine spoke. "Get your eyes off my body if you still want that run and I'm personally gonna escort you off my premises and into the car that's going to transport you to my hangar by 6:30 a.m. I've had enough of you."
Xu Ying giggled. "Which means i made an impact darling. You will never encounter this version of me again. I can assure you that in our next meeting, I'll be the mature lady I have spent the last three years being groomed as."
"Or you'll be an insufferable military trainer since you've been called back home." Raine responded but was met with an unusual silence.
Raine walked out of her closet with her track suit in hand and turned to face the woman seated on her bed with a jacked draped on her shoulders. Raine stared at her and accessed her stature. She couldn't understand why she was giving her grief for having a perfect body because she had the build of a model; straight long legs, a tiny waist and the perfect sized chest. She was an elegant beauty but that wasnt her real focus.
She could see that she was going through an internal battle which seemed connected to what she had just said. "Why are you quiet?"
"Nothing much... go dress up, it's nearly 4:30 and i'll want at least a full hour before i have to prepare for my journey, Missy!!!"
"I am the one who will determine the time for your journey, so speak."
"About what? There's absolutely nothing to speak about. You know what? Continue dressing, I'll be waiting for you outside." Xu Ying said as she smiled and stood up from the bed.
"If you take one step out of my door, you'll regret it Biao Jie."
Xu Ying paused mid step, saluted Raine then sat back down. "Good, now speak!" Raine commanded.
"I really don't know. Do you really think I can work as a military trainer with my history? What happened that year was a huge black mark and you know that!" Xu Ying said.
Raine looked at her cousin and sighed. She was right, what happened was a black mark on each of them and on their family. Her father and grandmother had sacrificed quite a lot to wash it off. "But the truth was revealed..."
"And of what good is that? The damage has been done, anytime they see me, they'll remember that disgraceful event. It is impossible even if i am one million times innocent which I really am not." Xu Ying shouted in frustration as she stood up and looked Raine in the eyes.
"Ying Jie!!!" Raine replied back in shock. She never knew she was knee deep in guilt for a matter that really had no correlation to her at all.
"Oh, come off it Raine. You know the truth better than I do..."
"Yes, which is why I know that none of it was your fault at all. You are fully innocent and I don't want to hear another word of your guilt or else I will really blow up!" Raine interrupted. She was totally over the sulking and ill treatment her cousin was giving herself.
"Do you want to know the truth? The real damn truth? Xu Lily had been going out with your ex-fiance from day one of your relationship, she planned it all then she planned the death of Shen Xue and Tom Ren in order to frame you. She wanted you out of both the family and of the military.
She wanted you to have a no-road retreat. Unfortunately, your ex-fiance found out that she was scheming against Tom Ren and she lied to him, letting him think she roped him into the game only for her to kill him as well and add him to the list of people 'you' killed. She practically planned a serial killing just to frame you and when we figured things out, she decided to kill herself using you. you simply walked into her well planned out and deranged masterpiece." Raine said in anger.
"No! that's not true... I shot her in anger and vengeance..." Xu Ying said in defiance.
"For goodness sake's woman... you were drugged with a powerful hallucinogen!!! You only saw what she wanted you to see, she shot herself in the stomach and placed the gun in your hand. I don't understand the kind of willpower she has but it is something!!"
Xu Ying sat back down feeling defeated. She couldn't believe she had been living a lie for a long time. "If reality is like this then why do you hate yourself? Why do you think Nai Nai hates you so much? It doesn't make any sense."
"Because Wai Po knows that I had figured everything out from the start; I knew about every single thing and I watched up till the moment she killed herself. I wanted her gone in the best and most criminal way and got my way though you suffered a bit through it. It was also because of the evidences I had kept that you were released early. Wai Po got me kicked out because I knew about the deaths of my comrade and didn't bring in the evidences until the end."
"No way... that cannot be true. She wouldn't..."
"For her favorite grandchild? She would do that one million times. Now you understand why I keep stressing the fact that you cannot help me. Do not put your hand in something greater than you, this is a battle I do not want to lose and I am not risking you again, I did that once and I still regret it. Do you understand me?" Raine asked and Xu Ying nodded.
"I will stay out of it. Can we go for the run now?"
"Lead the way, I'll meet you downstairs and you are going for 10 extra rounds for the crap you gave me this morning."
"Hell no..." Xu Ying shouted in laughter but got alarmed by the no-nonsense expression on Raine's face. She ran out of the room to prevent provoking more of her ire.
