She picked the phone and walked out of the dining room, with the phone still ringing. She merely didn't want to have a conversation in front of Devon but to someone else it appeared she was rushing off to go speak to her lover.
With a deep frown on his brows. He looked at the girl's slender back as she walked away. Her steps were leisure and steady but in his eyes she seemed to be walking in fast brisk strides.
"Hello" her clear voice rang into his ears before she finally walked out if his sight.
He snorted and looked away still could only find himself wanting to know what she was up to. Did she take his rules seriously? Or was she really a sneaky stubborn bitch?
He shouldn't be wondering about these things. He shook his head to dispel the unnecessary thoughts. Since he was also done eating, he picked up his phone and walked out of the room. Butler Ken and Aunty Lou looked at each other with an excited smile.
They were right after all. Something needs to get to the extreme before they could be taken care off. For peace to reign there first must be chaos.
Just how do they turn on the chaos?
Gisele threw herself on her bed immediately she got to her room. The phone glued to her ear as she listened to whatever it was the person on the other was saying.
"Sorry to be calling you at such a time. I hope i am not being an inconvenience?" The feminine voice rang out from the phone.
Gisele frowned slightly. The voice sounded familiar, like that of the lady she had met the other day, but why would the lady be calling at such an hour?
"Mrs Claudia?" She asked.
"Miss Gisele How have you been? I feel heartbroken you didn't even save my contact" Claudia complained through the phone. She had written out her number for the girl tht day but it appears the girl had not even saved it. Did she ever have any plans of contacting her again?
"I apologize. It kind of escaped my mind" Gisele smiled apologetically. The paper containing this woman's number was still stacked away in her bag. She wouldn't even had remembered it if it has not been mentioned.
"That's fine. I'm not offended." The woman said "Is miss free tomorrow? I would love to invite you for a shopping trip"
No doubt Gisele was going to say no, she had only helped the woman that day because she couldn't stand the scenes and not because she wanted to cozy up to the woman. Since that was the case she was going to refuse but the woman beat her to it.
"Please don't say no. I really want to thank you for what you did for me the other time. It might seem small to you but to me, you practically saved myself. Let me do something for you in return. Please accept my shopping invite"
Gisele didn't immediately answer. She was reluctant to accept but the woman's tone carried a lot off sincerity, it would be harsh and rude of her to say no since the woman had beg.
"Fine ma'am I accept."
"That great!" Claudia answered almost yelling.
"Then I'll text you the time and address. We'll meet tomorrow then"
"Yes have a good night ma"
"Yes you too darling"
The call came to an end. Gisele didn't think about it at all. It was just a shopping outing so why would she think about it. What was occupying her mind was an entirely different issue.
Looking at the novel sitting idly on her table she felt a bit guilty. She had promised the man she would take a look at it but she has barely read up to five pages in the book. The Old man must be waiting for her feedback. It was best she finished the book on time and get back to his request.
She stood up from bed and moved to take the book. Since there was not an ounce of sleep in her eyes, she made up her mind to finish the book before the next morning.
First things first, she completed her night routine of taking her bath and applying her face mask. Then she climbed unto her bed and began reading the book.
One page after the other, One chapter after another and by the early hours of the morning she had finished it. Through the whole book, she found herself smiling, crying, feeling frustrated and feeling helpless on behalf of the leads. Everyone was right. The Old man was really good at writing. Even though this was his biography and that of his wife he had manged to making it humorous and even more interesting. The couple story was captivating and really touching. No wonder he was persistent in making it Into a movie.
If it really did become a movie, not only would it captivate the hearts of the viewers but it might just be nominated for an award. The storyline was perfect plus it contained a historical figure in it.
She was tempted. Tempted to take his offer, one for the money that would follow. Anyone participating in this project was sure to rip bountifully from it since it was an inevitable big hit. Secondly she could see through his writing the love he had for his wife. Such a beautiful love, she would be happy if she could help him show it to his wife before she dies but then again she was reluctant.
First of, she wasn't an actress, it would take a lot of effort to get the carriage right. Such an important role would definitely come with a mountainous amount of expectations and pressure. Gisele was not sure she was ready to handle such a pressure. Secondly, the last thing she wants is to be the reason the whole production flops. Her mother's family would surely not let her be if they found out she was starring in the movie.
Apart from these two worries she had no restrictions in accepting his offer.
She sighed, closed the book and prepared to sleep. There was no rush, she could take a few more days to think of it and really consider her actions before deciding. With that she turned off the room light and went off to sleep.
In no time it was morning again and she had to wake up. Her sleep was shorter that any other day in the past that was because she had slept in the early hours of the morning.
Despite sleeping for a a couple of hours, she didn't have any black eyes neither did she look shabby. Her face skin was smooth as silk and soft like wool. No signs of stress or insomia's after effects, all thanks to the face mask she had used.
Checking the time, it was just an hour till she was to meet up with that lady. She hurriedly got out of bed and went into the bathroom. When she was done, it was time to get dressed.
"Miss do you mind if I pick your outfit for you?" Aunty Lou requested.
Gisele shook her head and joked "Aunty Lou's fashion sense is already this superb. I surely would not mind following your choice. I would be honored to accept Aunty's Lou's fashion advice"
The woman smiled and shook her head, the miss had such a sweet mouth. One could get lost in her flattery at times.
"Miss what's the occasion?"
"A shopping invite" Gisele casually answered looking through the Jewelries set out on the vanity table
"Someone's taking you shopping?" Does miss have a boyfriend?
Gisele had no idea what was going on In Aunty Lou's mind, she nodded and briefly explained. Even though she had explained, there was a scheming smile at the edge of the woman's lips.
Since Gisele had given the permission, she walked into the walk-in closet and came back out with a couple of dresses on in her hand. She placed them on the bed and smiled at Gisele.
"Here you go miss"
Gisele looked at the cloth on the bed. A white mini gown with multiple flay hands and a flowery embroidery running from the down all to the middle.
The gown was simple but beautiful.
"Since miss would likely be trying out some clothes, I chose something that would be easy to take off" Aunty Lou explained.
Gisele nodded. She was satisfied with the choice, after all she didn't want to look sophisticated. It would arouse suspicion from Claudia and probably would make her start asking questions.
She went into the closet and put on the cloth. In the next second she walked back out.
Aunty Lou was once again mesmerized by the girls beauty. What was meant to look simple was turned to an exotic dress on the girls body. She looked young and delicate, even more so like a maiden going on a lovers date.
"Does miss like it?" Aunty Lou asked knowingly. The impression this look gave was just one she was hoping to get when she chose the outfit.
"It is simple and free. Doesn't make me look like a vixen so I like it" Gisele answered cheerfully.
Gullible... Truly gullible.
She didn't look like a vixen true but she looked like a delicate porcelain goddess that deserved attention. Beautiful and worthy of doting. It would be hard to keep your eyes off her.
"I'm glad miss likes it. Breakfast is ready you should come to the dining room".
