Chapter 14 - Ch 14- Audition

Over at Bliss entertainment Company building. Roxanne strutted in, elegantly dressed in a V neck black mini gown and silver heels. Her boobs pushed up till they almost touched her chin, her waist slimmed down with the aid of a corset, she appeared to have that killer shape that men would die for, even more likely with the way she walked.

Also with her hair tied in a messy bun and a pair of black goggles on her eyes, she looked beautiful and unapproachable. Her body exuded the type of aura that supposed to make people fall at her feet and stare from afar yet no one was even looking nor was anyone sneaking glance at her. Her presence was not even noticed by anyone, Instead everyone had their attention hung up on their phones as they conversed amongst themselves.

She frowned and gestured to the young lady beside her who happened to be her new assistant. It hasn't even been up to twenty four hours and she had gotten herself a new assistant. Actually it wasn't that hard, even though she was just a C-list actress, she still had quite a number of fawners so she just had to pick one of them to run her errands.

"Miss haven't you seen the post on the Company's public group?" Muriel asked back which only earned her a glare. She understood her question had annoyed Roxanne so she immediately began explaining. This wasn't her first time working as an assistant, she had ditched her E-list artiste to work for Roxanne so she knew how these artistes behaved.

"Everyone is saying the beauty goddess visited the company this morning. She was so beautiful that even birds sang with every of her footsteps." The girl continued explaining.

The mentioning of any other girl as beautiful was more than enough to rile Roxanne even if she hasn't met the girl in person. She had taken so much effort with her makeup and practicing her walking steps in front of the mirror, how couldn't she be angry when no one was even there to praise any of them and everyone was off praising some other girl.

"What nonsense is that? Do you expect me to believe such nonsense?!" She fumed angrily.

Muriel shook her head hurriedly "I'm not lying! You can see for yourself someone had sniped a picture of her and posted it in the group" the girl brought out her phone and brought the post out "oh yeah they say she had also gone to see your manager. Someone commented that she had pretended to be an assistant to an actress under your manager. Your manager refused to answer anyone's questions. He only said she was someone he has come to respect"

Pretended to be an assistant?

Roxanne's hurriedly collected the phone and glanced at the picture on the screen. Her eyes flew open and her fist clenched in anger.

Fair skin, brown hair, seductive figure.

Gisele!!

What nonsense pretended to be an assistant?! She was really her assistant!

She passed the phone back almost dropping it on the floor and immediately stumped towards her manager office.

She needed to know why that conniving brat had come to the company to see her manager. Perhaps did she come to apply as an artiste?

Never! She would never allow that to happen. Not in a million years!

She hastened her footsteps and hurried off. Cursing and abusing Gisele all through the way.

Meanwhile, the beauty goddess was leisurely taking a stroll round town.

After leaving the mall, she didn't immediately go home. She didn't want to, going home would mean meeting that Stone faced man. Even if she doesn't meet him, she would be locked up in the house with nothing to do than to eat and sleep. No thanks, she pass.

Gisele next decided to visit a bookstore. She was restarting her life so there was naturally a few things she had to revisit.

"I'm looking to buy a Sketch book and a full set of drawing materials" she replied when the attendant asked what she wanted.

Living with the Andres for three years and not for once did she put pencil on a paper. She totally dumped her drawing hobby, not because she wanted to but because she literally had no time. Every second and the other, she was either running errands for Gisele as her assistant or doing chores in the Andres residence as they maid. Her life then was hectic, she barely had any minute for herself except for the little hours she had to sleep or perhaps use the bathroom. Even then, most times in order to finish her chores and agenda for a day she would end up giving up on these little breaks. Sleeping became incoherent for her and her mind gotten help working even in the toilet.

Now that she had all the time in the world, she was going to awaken her drawing skills, hopefully she has not lost it completely.

The Attendant left and came back with her items. He handed it to her and began to process her bills.

Gisele looked at the Sketch book and drawing materials in her hands and felt a drowning sense of nostalgia.

They were different.

Somehow, she was expecting to see that familiar Sketch book with a flying leprechaun logo and drawing materials that she was familiar with but these looked nothing like them.

"That would be 500 and 65 cents" the man announced.

Gisele looked hesitant "perhaps could I get a different set. Something more quality that this?" Nothing only did they look different but they felt different too. The rough texture of the pages of the sketchbook just didn't feel right under her palms.

"This is the highest quality there is, unless you want a lesser quality?" He asked back.

"Maybe I should just see a sample of all there are then I could make a choice" She refused and showed him an apologetic smile. He left once again and came back with a bunch of things in a trolley. One by one he arranged them out in front of Gisele.

It still wasn't there.

The Man noticed the reluctant look in her eyes yet again so he chirped in. "These are all the available one, if there is anyone that isn't here then it probably had gone out of sales or can not be procured by just anyone."

Gone out of sales? That should probably be it. The company her uncle bought from must have been a low end company and must have gone out of sales in the recent years.

Dispirited she randomly selected a set and paid for it before walking out.

She was reminded of the state her Grandfather was when she left him. They houses was fine but it looked shabby when it stood next to the other house then in the countryside. She went to a school no one wanted to send their children to, they were no more than fifty students in the whole school. She vividly remember how other children faces would pale if she invited them to attend her school. Yet she was on scholarship all through her school days. They weren't rich but they had just enough to go by with, there was nothing like luxuries, be it branded clothes or any soet. Her Uncle worked 24/7 just to provide for them.

Now that she looks at it, she had really been heartless then, leaving them alone to go enjoy the luxury of the Andres house.

This was why she needed to make money. Enough money to go and bring her Grandfather to the city. He had always said he didn't want to be involved in the controversial life in the city but she was sure he was only scared living in the city would increase their expenses.

When she makes money, she would buy a big house in the city and bring him there, even if she can't leave Devon's house, she would make sure her grandfather was never lonely and had all that he needed.

But where to make such money?

She had no job and the last thing she would do even on her dying bed was to request money from Devon. She wanted no part of his wealth.

She needed a job.

The Audition!

She had almost forgotten about the audition. That could just be her chance to get a job. Gisele made up her mind to go for the audition and if it turns out she wasn't selected she would go sign up to become a designer in that GXJ company. If they liked her previous design from when she was a little girl then there was sure to be a vacancy for her there.

It was also like killing two beds with a stone. She could find out how they got her previous design and also get to sell more designs.

Everything was perfect.

If her plans should work out, in no time she would have enough money to bring her grandfather to the city.
