Every month end, they have a joined class, where everyone takes the time to get familiar with each other through sparring. It's been three months and Alexa is no doubt on top of the class with an unbeatable score. Phillipeño, now considered her partner in crime, is getting better from their early morning meetings, plus Petro's training. His confidence in being different physically has spiked and is still rising quickly from every dodge he makes, avoiding his current opponent's attacks.
"Good boy." Petro mumbles to himself, stalking around the mats in observation.
Alexa stands aside, knowing that in the next morning, she'll have to make corrections for him to follow. Within the passed three months, she's gotten used to the blind boy being around her and now, the girl he thought was quiet, turns out to be quite the chatterbox, though her voice is still low. He's realized that she's just silent in crowded or unfamiliar places; not because she's shy, but because she's too busy calculating her surroundings to acknowledge anyone.
A fourteen year old, Katya Sharpe stands before Phillipeño, with determination shining in her blue-green eyes. In her head, she's repeating what she's seen of him in the previous classes like this one. He doesn't stand a chance against me, but there's a whisper in her ear, saying, 'then why haven't you taken him down yet? It's been ten minutes.' She grits her teeth, grumbling profanities of frustration, before lunging. Her strawberry blonde waves goes airborne.
Her movements are predictable, her breathing is heavy. Phillip can hear everything and he's done showing off. He could've finished her as soon as they began, but remembering what Alexa did for him, he wanted to at least give her a chance to showcase her skills to her teacher.
Phillip escapes her claws and simply hits a vital point in the back of her neck, hard enough for temporary paralysis. She falls limb to the mat, wincing on impact. Nobosklav watches blankly, while the others burst into gasps, gaping in astonishment. Alexa peers at the girl, tilting her head with condescending gleaming eyes. She knows exactly what the girl was thinking with that overconfident, annoying expression she wore, eagerly jerking her hands to be the one to fight Phillipeño when the question was thrown out.
Why do they underestimate the boy because he's blind? People who loses a sense, especially born without one, develop ways of getting around even much better than how normal people do. Phillipeño is talented; he sees, but he's blind. He has ears like a bat's, using sound to move around freely. Phillipeño is an intriguing specimen to Alexa, she's interested in what he may be capable of. She's invested in making him better and soon, she'll be the twister in his simple white line of thoughts.
