Chapter 26 - He’s Mine

After school hours at Evans High.

Matilda has been feeling distressed since she got the shocking news about her ex in the morning. She's complaining to her minions in front of their homeroom about the same matter.

"Wait, what? They're together now? That's bad for you. Seems you've..."

MATILDA: Shut up, Bella! You ain't helping!

PRUDENCIA: Calm your nerves, you can still have him back, just because they're together now doesn't mean it's over.

BELLA: Isn't that precisely what it is?

MATILDA: Don't be stupid, girl. Ughrrr! I need Tyler now.

BELLA: He's probably at the gym.

PRUDENCIA: Yeah, he's either slacking around somewhere or playing basketball at the gym, he's a sucker for that sport.

MATILDA: I don't remember asking about his addiction, all I said was I need him now! God damn it! You both make me sick!! (She flings the books she's holding)

PRUDENCIA: Get a hold of yourself, Matilda. Transferring your aggression on us won't solve anything.

MATILDA: Then give me suggestions on how I can solve this!

BELLA: Uhm... I'll go look for him. (Walking away, trying to avoid one of Matilda's regular chaotic scenes)

PRUDENCIA: By the way, why did you send Bob instead of Tyler to spy on them? I thought he was no longer working for you.

MATILDA: Tyler was busy when I needed him, stupid literature test. Bob still works for me though, but probationary. I can't really trust him one hundred percent ever since he screwed up the last assignment I gave to him, but I never really fired him, he's still useful to me. Right now I only need Tyler to separate Anderson and that stupid brat.

PRUDENCIA: Hmm, I see.

MATILDA: You sound like you don't think Anderson and I can get back together.

PRUDENCIA: I never said that.

MATILDA: You didn't need to. But listen up, Anderson is mine, got that? He's mine! (She narrows her brows)

PRUDENCIA: Hey, relax, it's not me you have a vendetta against.

Matilda's phone beeps and she checks it, it's a text from Bella. "𝘉𝘰𝘺'𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘺𝘮 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥. 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘸."

Minutes later.

TYLER: She's dating Anderson for real? That happened so fast, so what are we gonna do about it? I'm guessing you've got something up your sleeves.

MATILDA: Yeah. There's this little guy, a freshman like you, he's got black curly hair and wears glasses.

TYLER: Octavio? He's my classmate.

MATILDA: Whatever his name is. I'll need you to steal his phone for me.

TYLER: What has Octavio gotta do with this?

MATILDA: Do as you're told and we won't have a problem. I'm not paying you to ask unnecessary questions.

TYLER: Sorry. But what's the name of this girl whom Anderson is dating?

MATILDA: Boy! You wanna get paid or not? (Raising her voice)

TYLER: My bad. I'd get his phone for you tomorrow. Right now I got practices.

MATILDA: Good. So tell me your History test went.

TYLER: Can I tell you how much I love you instead?

MATILDA: Ew, no.

TYLER: I meant... thanks a lot for the help.

MATILDA: I see it went well.

"Sixty nine!"

TYLER: That's my coach, and that's my cue to leave... please excuse me. (Rushing off)

BELLA: What do you intend doing with the kid's phone?

MATILDA: It's the same Octavio who's in the pictures I took, remember?

BELLA: Yeah?

PRUDENCIA: I guess you wanna use his phone to send some silly texts to the girl's phone, so it would seem like they're having a secret affair and she's lying to Anderson about it.

MATILDA: Bitch! You read my mind. You just earned one of my jewelries for being such a smart ass.

Prudencia smiles.

MATILDA: I'm also gonna leave a warning note in her locker. Anderson hates me enough that's why I'm trying so hard not to hurt this Lil bitch. After all, y'all know what Matilda is capable of. (She glares) ...y'all know.
