"I found it when I was living at the orphanage, 16 years ago… when they took everything I loved." Said Alexander changing the mood in the room. "It's something I'd rather forget."
By the looks of it he didn't want to talk about it. Katherine placed her hand behind his back, it was as if she was telling him, 'it's okay, don't say anymore'. She has spent 12 years with Alexander, so she knows him well. When Heather hear that he was an orphan she got confused.
'He was an orphan? But why does he look familiar?' She thought to herself. 'I thought he was… never mind, I will find out the truth eventually. I'm just reading too much into this.'
It didn't take long for everyone to move on to a different subject. They all began to talk about the incident, from 3 weeks ago. Alexander was surprised that he was in a coma for 3 weeks, he felt embarrassed for sleeping for so long. Heather was surprised after he said that, because the mages and the saint said he would be in a coma for more than 3 weeks.
"So anyways what happened to the shadow mages?" Alexander asked heather.
"About that, most of them were captured," Heather explained, "we captured all 25 shadow mages plus the one who stole the bow from the academy."
"I take it there were more we didn't account for?" Katherine asked.
"Yes, you have to talk to the Head Master about the rest, that includes the bow as well."
"I see, so all of them were captured, can we see them, I want to ask her something?" Alexander requested. He couldn't shake what the last mage said. 'It's not time yet. It's too early for you' those words echoed inside his head.
This left Heather curious for a minutes, "I will what I can do, but don't get your hopes up."
Alexander accepted the Queens answer, suddenly Chris entered the room again and informed everyone about a visitor.
"Excuse me my Queen, but the Saint has arrived." He informed everyone before allowing the Saint to enter.
The Saint was a young girl with long golden hair, not older than 14 years old. She had on a white dress with a touch of blue, and on top of that she had on a white and gold mages robe. She looked shy when she walked in the room, she was not expecting to be a lot of people. She kept her head down and began to greet everybody who was present.
"Who is she?" Alexander asked, whispering to Katherine. Heather overheard and answered herself.
"She is, how can I put it… she is the reason you're alive." She said flicking his forehead. The Saint was surprised to see Alexander and Katherine awake, that she rushed towards them. She was amazed that she couldn't help but to touch Alexander. She picked up his arms, checked his injuries and looked he dead in his eyes for anything unusual.
"You're too close young lady." Alexander whispered trying not to feel awkward.
She apologized before going around the bed to check on Katherine. Katherine didn't have physical injuries, but she was also in a coma as well. The Saint was acting less shy with the two of them that she almost forgot her purpose for being there. Katherine had to pinched her cheeks slightly to get her to calm down. She apologized and began to compose herself.
"I'm sorry for that, I was just curious that's all." She said rubbing her cheeks. She took a bow and introduce herself.
"It's nice to finally meet you, my name Charlotte Walburge. I did all I could to help you and I hope that was enough."
"It's nice to me you, my name is Katherine and this is Alexander." Katherine answered for the both of them.
Charlotte took a seat beside Heather and informed Alexander that she wanted to continue treating his wounds. It took about two weeks to repair the damaged caused by the magic bow, so Charlotte kept visiting regularly to heal him.
"To be honest, this is strange for me, I was not expecting you to wake up so soon." Charlotte explained, finding it hard to believe it. "Well since you're awake can I proceed with healing you?"
"Sure you can, I may be awake but it's still hard to move." Alexander replied trying to lift up one of his arms.
Heather excused herself and requested Katherine to accompany her. They both left a few minutes later, leaving Alexander with Charlotte.
"Can I ask you something, if you don't mind?" Alexander ask before she began.
"That depends on the question."
"Why do they call you the Saint?"
"It's a long story, but the I could tell you the gist off it." Charlotte answered. "SACRED ARTS: DIVINE RESTORATION!"
"Did to say Sacred arts?" He asked before surprised by the spell.
The magic circle on the floor began to glow. A golden light surrounded them and began healing Alexander. She kept up the spell for 30 minutes until she almost ran out of mana.
"I'm done for today, but I may need to come back again later this week." She told Alexander before trying to stand up, only to lose her balanced. Lucky Alexander was there catch her, but since he was still recovering he also stumbled over. They both managed to get up again and Alexander requested she take a break before leaving.
"How can you perform a sacred art at such a young age? It should be impossible for someone your age to do it."
"To be honest… I studied a lot of different magic when I was growing up. I was fascinated by everything about it and I had to know more. I read everything I could find on magic, but only the basic magic. One day I came across a wandering mage. She was amazing, she showed me more magic than I could imagine and she ended up becoming my Master."
Alexander listened to her going on and on about her master. Her face lit up as told him stories about the mage, she couldn't be happier at that moment. In fact, she felt a little embarrassed at some point, she was talking to a stranger about her past.
"One day she got hurt trying to protect me… and I tried to heal her but I was too week and inexperience that she almost died." She lightly explained leaving out other details in her story. "Finally I got so desperate to save her that something unworldly happened. In my time of need it came to me, the sacred arts felt like something I could all my life."
"So you were able to heal your master with that spell?"
"Of course, she told me my sacred arts was like a miracle sent from the heavens." She stood up preparing to leave.
"Well she may be right, but after all that I want to say… thank you for saving me." Alexander thanked her.
Alexander tried to move his body, his injuries were almost gone. With a few more recovery spells he would be able to be at full 100 percent. He didn't want to risk anymore injuries so he kept his movement to a minimum. He was able to walk outside and take in some fresh air. As he walked he couldn't help but shake bad feeling he was getting.
…
Meanwhile Quincy was at the graveyard staring at a few graves with a look of sorrow in his face. When they were fighting the Shadow Mages, some of the instructors fell victim to the attack. A second group of Shadow Mages, including the Mage who stole the bow, attacked the academy and managed to kill 5 instructors. The rest of the instructors were injured during the fight. He felt guilty that he was not there to protect them.
"Do you feel guilty, Head Master Quincy?" a female voice echoed in his ears. "Do you want revenge for your fallen comrades?"
He turned around, but nobody was there, all he heard was a hissing sound. He felt like he was losing his mind, looking around for something that wasn't there.
"Show yourself you coward!" Quincy expressed, losing his patience.
Suddenly a woman appeared behind Quincy making a hissing sound. She was quick and managed to wrap herself around him. It was if he was being attacked by a snake, at that point he might as well be.
"You again? You don't give up don't you, Emeli?" Quincy asked with an angry face. "Always trying to manipulate people for your own benefit."
She released the hold on him. "Don't get mad at me for failing your people, be mad at the Mages who nearly killed you besides," she opened her arms, "it seems you have an Ace that can help you."
Emeli is one Mage you can never trust, and Quincy knew that, but at that point he decided to give in to her temptation.
