Chapter 7 - Chapter 5: Their Success

Sophia's POV

"Baby, let's go," he called to me.

I hurriedly grabbed my bag then I quickly walked towards our living room where my husband was waiting. It's a good thing I woke up early so we didn't yell on time. My forehead furrowed as he sat nicely on the long couch while I almost running between the living room and bedroom.

"Are you done?"

"For what?"

"Staring at me?

Suddenly I laughed at what he said, I walked over to sit next to him in his seat. When I sat down I was greeted with a kiss.

I was slightly surprised but I also responded to him.

I chased my breath as our lips parted. Because I still haven't been able to recover from my running earlier when he called me. I shook my head on his shoulder. I closed my eyes as I inhaled my fragrant husband.

"Are you okay now, baby?

He whispered.

I was surprised by his question. Why is he asking me if I'm okay?

"Why?"

"Because when I see you when you come out of our room, it's like a dog is chasing you because of your appearance."

He said softly to me. Was I that haggard before? Eh how come I thought we were in a hurry. It's still early, based on the time I see now, it's only half-past six.

"When you told me to let's go, I thought we were rushing."

"We are not rushing, baby, I just called you." Explain this to me.

"When you are okay, shall we go?"

"Okay, let's go."

We went out of our condo unit to the ground floor where the garage is. Everyone who saw us was smiling. I also smile back at them.

He opened the car door and I immediately went inside. After closing, he turned to get into the car. I sat up straight and fastened my seatbelt. He operated the vehicle while sitting in the driver's seat.

He turned on the music on the radio. I liked the song so I joined the song even though I didn't memorize much. Soon the two of us were singing together. We can't be heard or seen inside so even loud is okay.

We arrived at the office smiling. We had a good day so the employees we met also smiled.

When we got inside our work table we immediately started for the work today.

We just finished a meeting at a well-known hotel. We are currently eating at a famous diner. We were talking straight away when suddenly something hit my eyes. I blinked to take a closer look but it was gone.

My forehead furrowed and I was shaken. I wonder if I have experienced anything like this the past few days. I was suddenly nervous, maybe someone was following us. I just stayed calm until we finished our meal.

I told Dale to go to the Comfort Room. When I returned, I saw that he was with a woman. Beautiful, sexy, white, and pointed nose. I hurried to get to our table right away.

I sneezed so they would notice me. I frowned at Dale. I was upset that I might slap someone. He even smiled at me.

"Oh, baby, meet my cousin from my father's side. She's Camilla, just came back from Japan. Camilla, meet my wife, Sophia."

I was amazed at what I heard. He's just a cousin if I can only think. I even blushed with shame on myself.

"Hi!" I greet her with a smile.

"Hello," she said with all her hands stretched for a shaking hand

I accepted it then shyly looked at my husband. He tapped me on my shoulder while smiling. I turned my gaze back to Camilla who was now staring at me.

"You know, you two are so sweet."

She smiled at me sweetly. I also smiled back at her. I was embarrassed when she stared at me and Dale. Then smile at the two of us.

The cousins chatted happily as I listened to them both. Sometimes he would join me in their conversation and I would go along. Until they end up in their conversation. Camilla said goodbye and we were on our way to the office.

When we arrived at the office we were shocked because someone was waiting for us. Dale's Secretary spoke to him outside the CEO's Office. It's turned away from us so we can't see the face.

I go straight to my office. Yes, I have an office after three months because I have mastered my job. It is also next to the CEO's Office and has a connecting door inside.

I have my secretary, he is also a man that Dale knows very well. Trustworthy and dependable. His work area is also outside of my office. Intercom is our communication within the office.

I started my job because we had only three hours to go home. I am currently reading files when Dale called on the intercom. He invited me to his office to meet someone. I put on my coat then went through the connecting door.

The visitor turned his back on me when I opened the door. When Dale saw me they immediately stood up to his visitor. He looked at me and I was shocked to see him.

Handsome, muscular, clean-cut, a bit dark but suitable for him. Dale and he are the same height but my husband is more handsome. Dale sneezed and I returned to my trance.

Dale pulled my waist closer to his. I could feel its tight embrace around my waist. I ignored it.

"David, meet my beautiful wife, Sophia. Sophia, meet David my friend from Cagayan Valley."

Instead of shaking hands with me, Dale took his hand. Imitated to sit on the long couch. I sat down next to Dale, one of us on the single couch.

"Your wife is so beautiful, Dude!" He said then smiled at me.

I smiled back at him for a moment. I could see out of the corner of my eyes how Dale's jaw would tense up. Why did he react like this? Very possessive.

I apologized to them both to continue my work. I also ordered my secretary to give them coffee and cake. I continued my work until four o'clock. I lost sight of my husband's guest.

At exactly four o'clock I finished what I was supposed to finish. I thought of going to Dale in his office to say hello to him. When I opened our connecting door, he was not in his swivel chair. I finally walked inside the spacious CEO's Office.

I looked for him inside but I couldn't find him. I remember the private room. My forehead furrowed, if he was there, maybe sleeping or resting. I tried to turn the lock, well not locked.

When I opened the door, I was finally exposed to the bulk lying on the spacious bed. My husband was tired from work so I let him sleep.

I closed the private room again then went back to my office. It's only a few minutes to five. Dale's fellow secretary was getting ready to go home. Dale and I were left alone while he was still asleep.

I tidied up my office, carried my bag, and then went into Dale's office. I first brewed coffee and took dessert from the refrigerator then I sat on the couch. I turn on the TV to watch while having coffee.

As I sat and watched my mug seemed to move. Good and quite half my coffee so it doesn't throw up. The mug continues to move. I immediately looked around the office, almost everything on the top was moving.

I panicked, I knew it was shaking. What should I do? I inhale and exhale to calm myself. For some unknown reason, I ran into the private room where Dale was sleeping.

I jumped on the bed and hugged my husband. Dale was surprised at what I did. He was shocked when I suddenly cried out tightly.

"Baby, quaking!" I shook him once.

He raised his arm then hugged me tightly. He even waited for me on his long thighs. He has almost covered me.

"Let it go, baby. That'll pass too."

I was not silent at what he said. Is he so complacent that he doesn't care even when there is an earthquake? In fairness, can't be felt here in a private room when there is an earthquake.

"Don't worry, baby. The building is safe."

He whispered in my ear.

I feel relieved. It's because in the UAE when an earthquake strikes, it's scary, so we run out with our important documents. I've been used to that for three years.

Later I heard my husband snoring again. I slowly left his embrace. I went back to the living room to check out the coffee and dessert I had left earlier.

When I opened the door, the neat office opened up to me. Not a single ballpoint pen fell to the floor. So that means the earthquake is mild. I was just exaggerating.

It's not my fault because of what I experienced then, so I panicked just a little bit of an earthquake. I'm back on the long couch. I resumed watching TV.

Suddenly a report flashed on the TV. I was right to shake because that was the content of the news. While I was watching I heard a voice on the intercom. I knew the guard of the building was speaking.

"I want to know if everyone is fine if anyone else is inside this building. Thank you."

I hurried to answer so they would know we were still here. I also said that we are well here within the CEO Office. The guard thanked me for the response.

Thirty minutes later my husband came out of the private room. His hair is messy. His clothes are still okay not even tangled. He was also careful in moving the bed. Nothing has changed in his poise.

"Are you done checking me, out?

He grinned as it headed to the mini-fridge while looking at me. I glared at him and smirked. He burst out laughing.

"You look more beautiful, baby." Once winked at me.

"I know," I replied as I raised my eyebrows.

"So even your friend, you almost punched earlier because he appreciated my beauty."

"That's how I am with my possessions." He said so hard that I was still terrified.

Little did we know that we had already reached six months. Our business went well, more people invested a lot and we earned more money because we both worked hard. Because of our successful management, Dale's parents were very happy, especially with Daddy Faustino. My husband and I are also happy because of the blessings we have received.

Daddy Faustino is proud of us, he told this story to his friends. One day, we received an offer to publish our story in an International Magazine. Dale made the decision and I agreed with it. There is nothing wrong with that because it will inspire people, especially in the field of business.

Because of Daddy Faustino's delight in our success, he let us choose what we want as a reward for ourselves.

My husband and I decided to go to America so that we could celebrate our celebration as a couple except for the family celebration.

As Daddy Faustino said then, after our wedding he will take place to care for the company while Dale and I are on a honeymoon abroad. My husband was happy because he also missed where he had stayed since he was young until we agreed to get married.

He also had one of his businesses and he trusted someone to manage it. That would excite him to see his staff there. We worked even harder to grow the company even more after our vacation in America.

I was very happy with our result and we weren't the only ones with the employees as well. Dale added their salaries and bonuses. They are very grateful to us.
