Chapter 1 - 1

Lily was a princess who had lived within her castle walls since the day she was born. Due to a tragedy that had happened to her parents, she wasn't allowed to go out of the castle. However, the workers often told her stories about creatures that lived in the forest close to the castle. The forest was supposedly magical and home to tons of magical creatures. She told her parents that she wanted to go to the forest but they refused, warning her about ill-meaning creatures that lived within the forest. Lily did not believe them, then one night, she snuck out of the castle to the forest. However, she was disappointed because she didn't find any magical creature. She then concluded that it was probably a wrong time to see the creatures. So from then on, every three days when she got an evening off, she would sneak off into the forest looking for magical creatures.

One day while she was out in the forest, she was so preoccupied with her exploring, she stayed out too long, and it was already dark. She stood up, picking up the tools, then she hurried trying to get home. She was already at the edge of the forest and could see the lights of the castle when she heard her name from a soft voice.

She turned around and saw one of the forest creatures. Its eyes glowed as it looked directly at her and it had black skin that had glowing markings on it. It looked like a lizard apart from these features. "Are you talking to me?" she asked this weird looking lizard creature. There was no reply, so she turned around and continued on the path back to the castle. Right when there was only a tree left for her to leave the forest, she heard her name again from the same sweet voice. She turned around and saw that the lizard was still following her. She asked the same question again, still, there was no reply.

Just as she was about to give up, she heard a reply, "Now you don't actually think that thing can talk, do you?" There was a light that was getting brighter as the source of the voice came closer to her. She shielded her face because it became too bright when it came directly in front of her. "So was it you, who was calling me?" she asked still shielding her face. "Yes," he replied. "I am called Lyrk. Nice to meet you, Lily." "How do you know my name?" "Well, I had to. You come here at the same time every three days. I am the keeper of this forest. Why do you do that?" "Well, I heard the creatures here are magical. But it's a lie. I've been here so many times, and I still haven't seen a single magical creature. Just that lizard." She said, pointing to where the lizard was before. "Do you like magical creatures?" it asked. "Well, I've always wanted to meet one" she replied. "Strange. So why are shielding your eyes? Is it because you don't want to be disappointed? I must say, I take pride in myself so I don't think you'd be disappointed so open your eyes." "I would, but it is too bright." "Oh, I am sorry." As he said this, the light reduced and Lily opened her eyes to see the most beautiful sight she had ever seen. Its beauty was indescribable. It looked like a male human, but it had long hair that trailed behind it. And it had eyes that glowed a shade of red that was strangely calming. She was dumbfounded, and it asked, "So are you disappointed?" She still couldn't speak, so she just shook her head. He smiled and then asked, "So I guess you're never coming back to the forest being that you've finally met a magical creature?" Suddenly gaining her voice back she quickly replied, "No I'll be back tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that and-", "so why don't you just stay here," he said, interrupting her, "I'll give you protection and all the adventures you could ever dream of. You just have to do one thing in return. Become mine." "What is that exactly?" she asked. "Simple, follow everywhere I go, top over mountains or valleys low, and I'll give you everything you want just be mine. And if your wants were to change to something vain, I'll give you that too. Everything you want in gold, I'll even be the magic story you've been told, and you'll be safe under my control. Just be mine". Lily being naive, thought to herself that that wasn't a fair deal, but something made it so she couldn't say no, and then she accepted the deal.
