Chapter 18 - Another Panic Attack?

Another Panic Attack

"Why hasn't the girl come yet?"

"For how long, I have to sit here and wait."

"If sitting here lonely and getting weird gazes from other couples is called a date then I am never going out for any date ever."

"I can't even think how these guys manage to wait for their partners so patiently while here I am fidgeting on my seat. Might be the so-called love."

"My only companion is my food."

"My spicy noodles only you care and love for me as my CEO has already planned to sell me out tonight."

Alex kept mumbling and grumbling. They had reached the hotel after his devil CEO had taken him or the more suitable word would be, 'kidnapping' him to their subsidiary mall to buy him clothes and make him look a little bit like him.

Alex hasn't liked shopping since his childhood. It always exhausted him, whenever his mother would ask him to tag along with her to buy some clothes. He would run away like in a flash and make his room his safe haven. As he was a kid at that time, wasn't smart enough that he couldn't hide from his very own mother at their home.

This anxiety and hate against shopping was inherited in his genes through his father. Alex's father loved his wife a lot, however the only thing that he didn't like, when he was forced to go with her on a shopping spree. It gave him nightmares for months yet his love for his wife won over it and he adjusted himself for her.

Alex couldn't understand how and why his father changed himself from the core. He would often ask his father in his childhood about their love story and how they met. From there he learnt everything about his parents still it was a mystery to him that 'how love can change someone so much?', his father had himself told him how much he and his mother would bicker even on small things yet the end result was nothing but an apology by both of them to each other.

"Dad, I still can't understand your words and philosophies behind the word 'Love'."

Alex ranted to himself since the girl who was apparently his date for the night didn't bother to show up on time.

He checked the time on his Rolex watch.

"One more minute and then I am leaving this place. No one can stop me."

He was determined.

Just then he felt a sudden gust of wind, messing up his hair. He looked up from his plate and there he saw the...…..

unique creature ever. He thought it was his brain playing a game with him so he rubbed his eyes lightly. However, it wasn't his illusion or imagination but reality. Then his eyes followed the girl till she reached the reception and he noticed the horror and terror on the young receptionist boy. He gasped loudly as if he saw a real life ghost.

Alex swore that even the ghosts might appear as an angel in front of that girl. The receptionist looked like he would faint any next second. He really seemed to be upset for the young boy who just experienced the most shocking accident of his entire life.

Alex felt sorry and pity for whosoever she had done that look for.

He sighed and went back to his food. He had already finished eating his noodles just the soup was left. Just as he took a spoonful of the soup, he heard a rough and scratchy voice.

"Excuse me?"

He raised his eyes up to see the person who had interrupted him during his meal.

His eyes widened and his pupils seemed to get so large they could beat black hole. His mouth hung till it reached the ground. He couldn't believe what he saw.

And involuntarily he spit out the soup on that person.

He didn't even want to believe it. It would have been better if had lost his eyesight for tonight then his eyes would have been saved from the dreadful incident that eventually would turn into the most beautiful and precious memory to him.

There was standing, a girl, who had her hair turned into a sea of different hair color dyes. She had worn a lemon colored glittering knee length dress. It had zig zag and other shapes cut out on the sleeves.

Her face appeared to have been drowned in the bathtub that was filled with makeup to its brim. It had visible cracks because of over use of foundation. Her hair color was messy and resembled a bird's broken nest. She had a choker tied on her neck. The girl wore large sunglasses that covered half of her face. She had mismatched her shoes, in one foot she had a shiny looking scandal while in the other it was black rain boots up to her ankles.

She looked fugly. One word that came in Alex's mind the very first time his eyes laid on her was not so surprisingly hideous but there was another word before it, uniquely

So the first thing that he had in his brain when he saw her was uniquely hideous.

Her overall appearance was not something he preferred but it wasn't also not something that he hated. He had always been told to respect people's choice and not to judge them on their appearance. Alex did have many thoughts running marathons inside him however as a gentleman he knew better not to invade her private life when it would be his first time meeting the girl.

Indeed, Alex was a kind and humble gentleman yet he must have missed out on the point that currently he was looking like a creep. His curious gaze at her was making her squirm. Although it wasn't visible on the surface. Inwardly she was crying at her unlucky fate. She could fathom the idea of why Alex was staring at her as if she was an extinct animal still it made her feel uncomfortable. She wasn't used to everything that was happening with her tonight at all.

'I need to stop this guy, who has not even blinked since his eyes had landed on me.'

The girl decided. She cleared her throat slightly in the hope of getting his attention away from her, the only problem was that it didn't work out. Therefore she tried to make a coughing sound with higher amplitude this time.

And it worked, Alex came back from his trance.

Immediately, he stood up, while doing this he didn't observe that the girl's chin was right on top of his head and if he abruptly stood up then it would collide with it.

Well, it was exactly what happened the next moment. They both stumbled a few steps. The girl began to massage her aching chin which had turned red. Meanwhile Alex also rubbed his head and moved his hand over it to confirm whether he got a bump or not.

Then realisation struck him, "I M SO SORRY." Alex did a 90 degree bow and his back got clashed with the waiter who was serving the food. The food tumbled above the head of an old bald man, since it was scathing hot. The man started to scream out loudly. His partner tried to calm him down yet it was of no use.

"Better, pour some cold water over his head."

"Yeah…. Honey, stand there, I'll pour this ice water on your head. It will help you." The girl who was almost 30 years younger than him told the old man as the man was running like a headless chicken.

She hurriedly emptied the contents of the glass on him. He relieved a sigh.

The man sat down on his chair.

'I thought I would die from burning.' He wondered what he didn't expect was that the girl continued to pour ice chilled water on his head until he shivered like a leaf in cold rainy weather.

"You, idiot, stop it!!" He yelled at the younger girl. His thunderous voice boomed into the restaurant of the hotel. He looked furious and ready to bite like a snake.

"We caught him." Felix's phone chimed with a message notification. He didn't ignore it like he does, instead he took out his phone and read the message. His eyes turned heavy. He left the hotel earlier than he had planned and he also didn't get the time to inform his assistant about it.

He took big and powerful strides to his car, "To the airport." He told his driver.

The driver was smart, he could see that his master was in his bloodlust mode so he knew he had to take him there within lesser time.

The car zoomed on the highway.

Esther had finished her meeting with her special prisoner.

"Now, I am leaving. I am having your words. Don't fail me again." She told the guy who had given his promise to her about handing her the information she needed.

Just like that she left from the rundown building and arrived near her car. As she entered inside, she put on her seatbelt and saw that her assistant was still at the hotel, the location for the date.

"I need to surprise her." She mischievously thought. Just when she had turned on the car engine.

She saw a blink on her smart watch. Her heart beat turned erratic. Numerous bad ideas began to camp inside her restless mind. Her hands were sweaty, feeling hard to breathe. Her eyes darkened with each passing moment. She was losing her eyesight.

She felt suffocated.

'Another panic attack??'
