Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

With three massive heads, four wings, and a tail; it ran with its small feet. The forest grounds rattled from the heavyweight of the vehement creature. Earth and leaves swirled behind them as it chased the young girl fiercely. She ran with all her might, ducking, sliding, and jumping over fallen trees.

Squarely concentrating on the rope branch of a tree that hung down, halfway into a lake in the distance, She jumps fearlessly with her arms stretched out and grabs the rope, thrusting it forward. The brave girl prepares to land at the other side of the lake but then notices her now flying advisory, getting closer with every moment. Just as the cunning thing was about to get a hold of her, Her eyes growing wide with fear, she then let go of her tight grip and into the lake, she splashed.

Diana inhaled sharply from her sleep and sits up, taking deep breaths again and again.

She reaches for her phone and resumes her music playlist. It floated softly from a shiny black mp3 player.

After some seconds of remaining utterly still and staring straight ahead at nothing in imparticular, she pulls her covers away and walks to the bathroom. The whole room consisted of two colors. There were black and white, Excluding the view of the hills and valley that posed outside her window.

Diana walks back out of the bathroom, naked. her long green to blue hair swings along her lower back as she walks with clothes in her hand. She thrust them into a black basket and heads back with her towel.

After a silent bath, Diana moisturizes her body and proceeds to put on her clothes. Picking up a black high-heeled ankle boot with an outfit that was hanged at the rear end of her drawer, she puts it on and then applies mascara, eyeliner, and layers of black lip gloss. Smacking her lips in satisfaction, she applies a transparent sticky liquid to her hair and then proceeds to brush it. Her slick healthy hair glowed in all its glory. On the edge of the table, she reaches out and clicks on a camera held by a tripod stand and it captures her image. The edge of her lips rose slightly as she looked at herself in the mirror which seemed to be turned upside down on purpose. The mirror was love-shaped with glowing black neon edges.

Diana wears a gold necklace, adding to the black one that had already been there. She puts on a watch with multiple bracelets and stands up from the white furry stool where she sat. She walks to the counter where her phone was and picks it up, disconnecting it from the Bluetooth speaker. She carries her small backpack and walks out of the room, taking along a black rough-looking book from a table as she left. She left her room wearing a soft, knitted, crop long-sleeve top that revealed her pierced belly button, with a matching micro mini skirt.

The Journeyman Academy, a public school for normal children; was the school that Diana attended. Various children bustled and nestled in front of the huge school, some in bicycles, roller-skates, scooters, skateboards, cars...some were even dropped by their parents, guardians, or friends.

"Fuck my life." Diana exhaled. she walked straight into the school building, getting frustrated at the sight of more people. She puts on her earpiece and the sound of the noisy environment drains out as soft music emerges into the background.

As usual, she got different stares from people that noticed her presence, some whispered. It was known that Diana always wore black, white, or mixed. Nobody knew why and nobody asked. If anyone had summoned enough courage to ask, Diana would usually snub or react rudely.

Some people referred to her as the bla-ite goddess, some admired her secretly because of her beauty and savage attitude. Diana always performs excellently in her academics, but only when she put in the required effort.

After visiting her locker, she picks some books for the second period and heads to an abandoned class at the end of the hallway. It was the only place that offered her peace and quietness which she craved for. The windows weren't exposed to the reflection of the sun and the room was without light. It had long ago stopped working, therefore making the place dark.

"First period of a blest Monday morning? Diana! Look at me, I am talking to you!" The plump, bald Principal raked.

Diana, looking as tranquil as ever, roosted opposite the principal with her legs crossed. She had not looked at him since he began talking.

''Okay, tell me! Why do you constantly skip physics class? Er," He clears his throat. "I promise not to tell …anyone." There was an awkward silence as he peeked at her, his right ear plunged forward, ready to grok whatever she has to say.

From the ground, her eyes slowly trailed up to his body and then abruptly stopped beneath his nose. She shifted her gaze back to the ground. "Nothing!" she stated.

He sat straight up with a frown on his face. "Because I cannot comprehend why a straight-A student like you would be skipping class for no particular reason!!"

"...Or do you want me to report to your mother?" He whispers, leaning forward.

Diana's head jerks up. "No! …Please."

"Hmm...Looks like your momma has got a stronghold on you, huh?" He pauses for a response and continues when there was none. "Well, if this repeats itself...I will personally call your mother...and tell her." He threatened.

Diana knew he was serious, she could tell from his tone and stern look. "...It would not repeat itself, sir." She states audibly.

"I hope so!" He sighed. "You may leave now..."

Diana stands and wears her bag.

''Don't forget, we care about Your well being, If you need anyone to tal-"

But Diana was already out of the room, shutting the door loudly. She batters her eyelashes, fighting back the pushing tears. "God damn it! …Why am I so fucking emotional?" She whispers.

Diana opens the door and walks into the classroom.

"Why are you late?" Mr. Kelvin, the history teacher asks.

"The principal called me." Diana says, walking towards an empty seat at the back."

"The principal always calls you." A girl with pink braids mutters."

''Yeah...Do you have a problem with it?"

The girl scoffs. "No. I couldn't care less."

"If you say so, but then you don't have to act as it bothers you..or talk," Diana says dryly. She settles down on an empty seat beside the girl.

The girl turns to face Diana. "You can't tell me what to talk about!''

"I can...And don't face me, you'll get the teacher's attention.'' Diana states, trying not to look distracted.

Ignoring Diana, the girl continues. "Even if you do, that doesn't mean I'll listen to you."

"I know," Diana said. She was Staring Straight Ahead, The teacher was already staring.

"So, Diana! Since it looks like you have something better to say, can you tell us something about the millennium Question? And by the way, it carries five marks.

"Great!" she mutters to herself. " I wasn't disturbing...I wasn't the only one talking."

''That's a lie, I wasn't talking!" Prissy, the girl in pink braids declared.

"Nobody said you were, guilty conscience...!."

Answer the question, then after you, prissy.

Diana clears her throat." these...probably are a group of people who were born, approximately, 1984 and after...This generation!"

"So..What can you say about...these people...?" The teacher questions further.

Diana clenches her toes, refusing the urge to rebel." Well, I think this generation is the worst that has ever been...The evil, hate, pretense, cravings for money, fame, power. And then passion, technology, competition...and self...

For us young people, there is more...pressure. From...parents, that's if you've got one...peers, ourselves, Sometimes forces, environment, and background. We just need love...love! And people too, that will stay, no matter what." Realizing herself, Diana looks around. All eyes were on her, even the white pale girl behind that never looks up.

"Can I sit now?"

"Ye-yes! Thanks for that contribution."

"It wasn't a contribution," Diana muttered again to herself.

"Looks like you are a really dark person!" Prissy whispers, smirking with satisfaction at Diana's expression. Unknown to her, Diana was far from sorry.

Diana stares at her for a while, lost in thoughts.

"What?" Prissy snaps.

Diana looks away.

"That reminds me, prissy, your question!" The teacher declares.
