It's my 8th Birthday today. The system told me I should be able to be adventure about when I'm 17. At least, should, because I'm getting a surprise gift as a 16th birthday present. Just another 8 years.
My day started off with me going to the kings castle. I was not ready for this at all. I thought the stuff would be brought back.
When we walked into the throne room, there was the other nobles families, each with a kid about my age, a few had teenagers as well, lined up. I was told to go get in line.
(Oh, Sacaroth, you know how I told you how the Mana Cores worked?)
Yeah?
(Wrong World...)
Oh.
( Yeah. Consuming a core here, is to rank it up. Same level core is needed, though. Unless it's a higher tier. If its two tiers higher, you'll go up a rank, and one tier higher would give you a new sub type for it. You need 2 cores of your rank to rank it up, and a new one would give you the element, if you had the affinity. They're checking your elements and affinities with a special item.)
Oh, okay. They get to try to figure out the second element though.
( They'll be able to read information about it, just need your permission.)
It's fine with me. Need to use it anyway, and they could supply me with that tech.
The kid in front of me saw me, and started a conversation. Teenage. Blond. Red eyes. Handsome, but most of the nobles are. Are we nobles because of our appearance?
"Hey, I'm Albert of the Wolfe Family. And you are?" He says.
"Sacaroth Raven. Nice to meet you, Albert." I reply.
"Do you mind telling me your element? I got Sound. So far, I can make noises. No clue what else I can do." He explains, disappointed.
Not telling him what's possible with that.
"Fire. I think I have something else, its just not doing anything when I use it." I say, a little proudly.
"Huh. Maybe it's a requirement one. Well, they'll be able to find out. Did the system have it listed?" He asks.
"I'll check." I pretend to flip through the menus.
We all have systems, we only get information about stuff from what we know. Like how I have fire magic. Players, or reincarnations, like me, have a AI inside. Well, more of Specialized Soul. It's how I know about the Technology Magic.
"How did I not see this? It needs Dungeon Tech? What's that?" I ask.
"I think I know. We think these dungeons were left by our predecessors, to help us train. They left this weird items inside, and we have no clue on how they're made, but its much more advanced than what we have. In fact, you might see different things inspired by a use of these things." He explains.
"Huh. So whoever was here before us, ended up helping a future race?" I question.
"Yeah. They even left some Golem like things, that have tentacles to move around. They're made of some kind of metal. We just call it Dungeon Metal, and we've used some of it to make good armor." He says.
"Interesting." I reply.
"Yeah." He finishes.
Well, that's good to know. Possibly, could be a variety of races I can think of. Probably not one I know, but it would be cool if it was a race from the Sci-Fi games on earth.
After about twenty minutes, it's my turn.
Albert walks up for a second,
"Hey, I got Magma, isn't that Lava?" He asks.
"I think so. Might want to experiment in a controlled environment." I respond.
"Yeah. Well, see ya. Oh, and tell your parents I'm fine with you coming over to hang out, I've already let Leo know." He lets me know.
"Oh, wait, Leo hasn't said anything, Is he a noble?" I ask.
"Forth Prince. He went and met every kid at the nobles families, looking for friends. Maybe he didn't want you to treat him as prince." He explains.
"Huh. Well, I'll see you later, man." I say.
"Yeah, see ya." He says.
I walk into the room that everyone was walking into, and there's a Big Machine.
(Put some of the tech mana inside, you can reach, right?)
I throw that little bit of mana at the machine.
(Tech Spell, Inspect Elements, learned.)
Oh, that's how that works. I like that.
"If you'd walk to the specified spot, we can begin." A 30+ year old man says.
I walk over to a spot mark with a pillow.
"Here?" I ask.
"Yep." The man says. He throws a lever, Looks at the machine, and start writing things down.
He looks at me.
"Heh, you just found out how to use that element, huh? Barely any info on it, only that you could copy uses. Seems recent, as well. I'm guessing you used it on the machine?" He asks.
"Yeah. Now I have a spell for the effect. Seems pretty damn useful." I reply, with a grin.
"Yeah. You got a mouth on ya, though." He says, with a laugh.
"I can, only when its a little funny." I say.
"Can you use the spell? I want to see how accurate it is." He asks.
"Got it."
I cast the spell. Apparently, its a five pointer.
(Elements: Metal, and Healing.)
"Metal Magic and Healing?" I ask, with a grin.
"Yep. Didn't think it would be accurate, as it was a new spell. Well, did you see info on them?" He asks.
"No, but I don't think I need to." I say, with a little laugh.
"My Metal Magic reshapes metal, as long as I touch it. That is all I can really do, other than the healing." He says, slightly disappointed.
"Have you tried using the healing magic to reconfigure your body? You're technically manipulating the body to heal faster. Along with better, and all." I suggest.
"Interesting. I'll try that at one point. Maybe I can test that out on a animal." He says with a gleam in his eye.
He heads over to a pile of small orbs.
He picks out a nice purple one.
"We don't know what this one is, It's either Shadow, Darkness, Or Spatial. Can you figure it out? Lets see if you can cast the spell on this." He says.
"Okay. Maybe you guys could contact me if this works." I suggest, to which he nods.
Might as well set a cast trigger. How about Inspect Element.
"Inspect Element." I cast. It does trigger, so that's one good thing. Not that I'll use it often. Maybe as a trigger during a conversation, like a lie detector spell. I'll have to set it to something else though.
(Gravity Core.)
"Its a gravity core. Interesting."
"Really? We have a gravity core? Well, the king has a use for one of these, so maybe I can get you a higher element kid. I'll ask around, see if I can. Go home, I'll send it to you." He explains, and calls in a servant. He has the servant go off, and I leave.
"What did you get kiddo?" My father asks.
"He has to find one for me. Maybe you can keep in contact with him for now? He knows why, if you want to know." I say. They can ask him if they want.
I just want to practice this spell. I cast it until I'm home, so that I gain some mastery points in the Element. From what I understand, mastery makes your spells that much stronger. So far, I have .005% Mastery. Lets see how far I can get it.
So, one good thing, when I learn a spell from anywhere, and manage to cast it correctly, I can use the spell models different parts to work with other spells.
So I can kind of combine spells or something. Haven't used the technique yet, but I know how. That'll be useful when I get that element. Sure, would've been nice to have the gravity, but it's fine.
About a week later.
"Master Sacaroth, please wake up. You have a few things to do today." My butler, Frank, says as he wakes me up.
"Do you mind telling me the schedule for today then?" I ask.
"Yes Sir. 8:00 AM to 9:30, Body Training. 9:30 to 10:00 Is breakfast, Free time until 12:00. Magic Training for an hour today, but that'll be with the new element assigned to you from the king himself. You shall receive that at breakfast. Lunch Is at 1:30 today, with dinner at 8:00. After lunch, you're parents have a few meetings with the other noble families, to decide your future bride." He pauses, and continues.
"After those meetings, you shall meet your cousin Jade, who your parents know from a family friend. You shall then spar with Jade, after the two families catch up." He finishes.
"Thanks, Frank. I need a moment to wake up fully, give me about ten minutes. I'll be ready by then." I say, and he nods.
I get out of bed and start getting ready. I heat the water the maids collected before I woke up, And I bathed.
After drying off and getting dressed, for my morning clothes, which were basic workout clothes, I started training.
After doing that, I thought of a new spell. I've been told to be careful when experimenting, so I headed over to the training yard, and tried it out.
I combine the thrust power of flame jet to flame bomb, and condense the mana. Before, it was the size of a Soccer Ball, now it's the size of a golf ball.
-18 Mana.
Huh. I play with it for a little bit, from a safe distance. I can control it's movement with a rate of 10 feet per second as the fastest, but only for 3 seconds. 1 foot a second for half a minute. Half Cost can be applied for more time.
I touch it to a target, and the shockwave was strong.
So strong, it turned the leather target dummy, into ash within half a second.
Well, I'll call this Rocket.
I then have an Idea. Rocket plus heat vision, possibly altering it to be a heat seeking missile.
Within 10 minutes, I figure it out, and I just decided to call it Missle. Costs 25 mana, but its strong. I mess with it to make it safer, and I do. For a grand 5 points, a I weakened it to be the force of a push. And, I reduced the flames. Now it just pushes you around, and can bruise if I cast a 6 point version.
The weaker ones I call Blast. I then decide to do a 50 point version, with more flame then force. Like 75/100 for fire. I test it, and it emitted blue flame for just a split second, and then it exploded 3 times. With the force of a grenade each time. All within half a second. It threw dust everywhere.
Well, that's enough spell casting for today. I go to get breakfast, as I took exercising off early.
I see a young girl along the way, same age as me, talking to someone I've never seen before.
Might be Jade or someone else. I say good morning, and continue.
The girl giggled as I was walking away. No clue why, but she did.
After breakfast, A whole bunch of adults gather in the main hall, and us Kids are told to go out to the courtyard.
Oh, it seems like all 15 families are here. I think there's about 34 kids. Most of us start sparing, and few use magic. Huh, are they hiding what they have.
Albert greets me, and asks what I got.
"Sorry Al, They are still picking mine. I think a few captains wanted certain ones or something." I say.
"Oh. Well, heres to hoping it's good." He says, and gives me a fist bump.
I nod, and he runs off to go hang out with some older kids.
Now, I notice a few glares, so some people are in the know about something. I wonder what. Luckily, they weren't directed at me. Couldn't see who, though.
A few people show off some spells. A few try to kill another. Just typical nobles. The ones who tried to kill someone else get kicked out.
Some one displays Fire Ball as if its a high level spell, then I launch a small blast, condensed so much its barely seeable. I blow it up underneath them, and they soar into the pool. No actual damage done. Amusing to watch, though.
A few kids look at me and laugh. Almost everyone else laughs anyway. The one kid tries to find who did it, but no one says anything. He stormed off.
A kid tried to stab me, to which I used another condensed Blast to send them off, and throw a Bruising Missile at them. That's what I called the bruising one, if it isn't obvious.
They get thrown down into the floor because of the combo. I hear a snap, and some people knew what happened. They explained to those who didn't know, so I guess these nobles aren't so bad.
I think I broke the kids arm. He got up eventually, and ran off. A arrow got them in the head, from one of his own family.
"Ah, Family troubles." I say out loud. Some laugh.
Continued like this for a few hours, and then I had to meet some of the girls, and went on a walk around the courtyard with each of them.
These girls were boring. Focused too much on the nobility stuff. There were a few girls close to being a girl of my type, but they shattered it usually with some crazy thing. One was a masochist. Not that that was a bad thing, I just didn't agree with her wanting me to break one of her bones.
Other than that, the masochist was the nicest one. I'm just done with the nobility choices. Maybe I'll meet someone, but not today.
END OF CHAPTER.
Shorter than I was wanting, but its been busy. Hopefully its not as busy next week.
