I was known as the ceo with a heart of stone. I suppose, in a way, it was true. I refused to let emotions rule my life. I'd seen what emotions did to people, so I decided from an early age I didn't need them.
I attributed a lot of my success to my refusal to be swayed by emotion. It gave me the strength I needed to do what had to be done. Like today for example. I'd just taken over another company that was on the verge of bankruptcy. After combing meticulously through the books, I knew that layoffs were necessary to keep the company alive.
I wasn't a monster, I didn't love firing people. But, I didn't hate it either, I just felt nothing. It was something that had to be done, simple as that. Which is what led to me standing here in front of the, soon to be unemployed, people informing them of the layoffs.
I was giving all of them some form of severance pay so, really, I thought they should be thanking me. After all, I could've let them go and given them nothing. At least I was trying to soften the blow. But, of course, they didn't see it that way. So as my carefully constructed speech finished I could see the familiar anger, sadness, betrayal, and hate carved on each of their faces.
For a brief moment I wondered if maybe I was a monster. Should I feel bad for laying off so many people? I dismissed the idea immediately. It doesn't matter what I 'should' feel, the decision was what was best for the company. And besides by firing these employees I was keeping a company alive that employed over a hundred others.
I thickened my walls against the emotions trying to creep in and finished the meeting up before dismissing them and informing them to go to HR and pick up their final checks. And that was it. I stepped down from the podium and left the room.
I want back up to my office and sat back down at my desk digging immediately into the large pile of work I still had to do. It wasn't easy trying to salvage a dying company after all.
When I finally bothered to look up from my screen I was surprised to see the sun setting through the wall of glass windows. I had a beautiful view of the city and the mountains in the distance, but I had only really looked at it once.
I glanced down at the clock realizing I had once again worked through lunch and well past the end of the work day. Sighing I scooped up my laptop and a large pile of documents from my desk to take home. Dumping them into my bag I double checked to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything and left.
After locking my office behind me, I glanced around and wasn't surprised at the empty office. I was always the last one to leave but it didn't bother me. My heels echoed through the tiled halls as I walked down to the parking garage. My car was near the door, one of the perks of being one of the first ones in every morning.
My car was in a way a lot myself. It wasn't flashy, over the top, or very expensive. But, it also wasn't old or run down. It was well maintained and practical. I drove through the twilight streets of town and now that I had a few moments break from work a familiar itch returned to the back of my mind. I pursed my lips before pressing the button to make a call.
I found the name quickly, he was one of the few I called on my personal phone, and dialed. It rang a few times before his deep voice filled the car.
"Hey babe, I was wondering when you were gonna call."
"Hello Jackson. Are you free tonight?"
"I'm always free for you. Are you coming over?"
I changed lanes quickly to head towards his place instead.
"Yes. I'll be there in 10."
I hung up the call, not bothering with goodbyes, and drove the last few miles to his place. I pulled in and parked leaving my bag on the passenger seat knowing I wouldn't be long.
I rang the bell but didn't have to wait long before it swung open and his familiar form filled the doorway.
"Jen, you're looking beautiful as always."
I ignored him and stepped around him into the house heading straight for his bedroom. I heard him sigh before closing the door and following me.
By the time he caught up with me in his room I had already removed everything but my bra and panties and they were folded and stacked neatly on the dresser.
"What no, hi Jackson? No I missed you? Nothing?
I arched an eyebrow and crossed my arms over my body.
"Since when do we do any of that?"
He shook his head and shrugged. "Fair enough."
I unfolded my arms and turned before reaching to unsnap my bra and heard him undressing behind me. I folded it and placed it on my clothes before sliding my panties down my legs and adding them to the pile as well.
When I turned back to face him he was laying on his back on the bed, naked and smiling.
"Ya know for an ice queen you sure have a hot body."
He joked as his eyes roamed my naked form. I saw his partially hard member beginning to grow and the corner of my mouth twitched into a small smile. I moved to the bed and leaned over him taking his dick in my mouth as I rubbed myself to get myself ready.
He moaned loudly and moved one hand behind my head tangling it in my long hair. I pulled my mouth off him and smacked his hand away before going back to what I was doing.
When we were both ready enough I climbed on him and maneuvered him into me quickly. I sunk down onto him, letting out a small sigh. But not a moan, I never moaned.
I rode him using my fingers on my clit to bring myself to orgasm twice. He came with me on my second one. I felt his seed inside me as he began to soften and sighed in relief. I'd been on edge for weeks now. I'd been busy day and night preparing for today's lay offs but now I finally scratched that annoying itch.
Climbing off him I went to the bathroom and cleaned up a little. I stopped and looking in the mirror real quick, cleaning up any hair or makeup that had gotten misplaced. Satisfied, I left the bathroom and walked to the dresser and started putting my clothes back on.
Jackson was still on the bed, in almost the same position I'd left him, but he'd moved just enough to get the remote and turn on the TV. When I was fully clothed I turned back around, surprised to see him looking angry.
"Why do you always have to leave right after? You know you can spend the night here."
My eyes narrowed in confusion.
"I've never spent the night here. And besides I like to sleep alone. Tonight was great though, I needed it. I'll call you soon."
I turned to leave and heard him sigh behind me.
"Yeah ok, goodnight Jen."
I left him on the bed and walked quickly back to my car and started my drive home. Jackson was acting weirder than normal. I figured it was because I hadn't come to see him in awhile and shrugged to myself.
Just like always, it seemed as though emotions were getting in the way and ruining everything. Why did people always have to give in to their emotions and let them run the show? Didn't they know emotions both good or bad only caused problems?
If only I knew how wrong I was.
