Claire opened her eyes widely, panting hard. She could feel sweat running down her back, wetting her clothes, then getting icy cold due to the light breeze that crossed the valley. She could still feel the pain in her throat, in her calf, the feeling that her arm wasn't there anymore. Even the warmth of her blood flowing out of the wounds could be felt clearly.
She blinked several times, taking a deep breath and calming down her heart, which was beating really fast. After experiencing the feeling of having her mind slowly stopping to work, and her heart's beating getting slower every second, it was a relief to feel that everything was working again, though it wasn't any good for her that her body was overreacting.
'Calm yourself down. Take that as nothing but a really bad nightmare... A really bad and real nightmare...'
