Joanne looked intently at the back of that man, which was turned to them. She clenched her fists tightly while realizing something that truly frightened her. Although she was very lazy, she had forgotten her constant exhaustion. It was replaced by that feeling dominating her heart and making her look at that battlefield with an expression of disbelief.
"Mother... what's with this guy? Why is he not dead already? It's about time!" she shouted, looking at the Mother desperately and trying to find any responses.
The Mother was solemnly looking at Clay and didn't say anything. Joanne noticed that she was slightly and discreetly biting her lips, but she didn't open her mouth.
It was Elizabeth who explained it to her, though she knew that Joanne already had the answer, the latter just couldn't accept it.
