Susan was still shocked due to Clay's words to her. Time seemed to freeze for a while as she absorbed those words.
'Is it my fault? Is it my fault that Clay is like this?' she tried to reach him with her left hand. Tears were running down her face as she did so.
"Clay, I am... I am..."
She couldn't finish her phrase nor touch Clay as the latter slapped her hand, brushing it off.
"Don't touch me!" he shouted, glaring at her with his cold and serious eyes. "It hurts... It hurts a lot... You don't have any idea of what I have been going through just to protect you! I spent two entire years of my life struggling just for your sake. I lost everything I loved just for you to exist! That's selfish, that's unfair... you being alive now is unfair!"
Susan couldn't handle that anymore and fell to her knees, hugging her own body.
