"Susan, stay back! Go to another room right now," Clay ordered. His voice changed to that serious and cold tone that Susan hated so much.
A chill ran down her spine as she remembered the dream she had on that morning. The memories of the several times when Clay needed to fight alone passed across her mind. She didn't want to go away. She was willing to stay beside him, even if she wasn't able to do much for him.
"I-I can't leave you here and run away, you know that!" She shouted back in a pleading voice as she held the bar of his shirt.
Clay glanced at her for a second. The look on his face wasn't the chill and kind one that he always reserved for her. Instead, it was filled with anger. She didn't even know if she was still talking with the same person.
"If you stay here, I won't be able to protect you! Even if I can, I will need to do crazy things to make it happen. You know what I mean when I say it?"
