Emily interposed the way between Dean and the hawk. Nobody could believe it when she did so. Of all people, she was the less expected to go help that boy, whom she showed to hate a lot.
However, in that tense and dangerous moment, they didn't mind it. The important was that now Dean was temporarily saved.
Anyway, that courageous act wouldn't help them any longer. After some minutes of excruciating pain, the hawk recomposed completely and looked at both teenagers in front of it with its single usable eye. Now, Emily also was the target of its rage. A prey or two more wasn't a problem for it.
"Emily!" Claus shouted desperately, trying to approach them and save his daughter, but it was of no use.
