Three months ago, before the events that unfolded inside Nemesis, Dean was still on his way to find Rick. His journey would yet last some weeks if he went there straight without any distractions.
He passed around a week surviving all by himself in the wild and walking for several hours per day. It was a rough routine that his common body couldn't handle easily. Now that he didn't have "Willpower" to reinforce his muscles and lessen the pain, he was suffering three to four times more than normal.
Despite the pain, he was determined to find Rick again, though.
'These harsh days are driving me crazy… I just hope that I don't die in the way. I don't have that same confidence from before now that I am not an Ascendant anymore,' every time that he had that realization, Dean gritted his teeth and closed his eyes strongly, as if to lessen the pain that he was feeling.
