The clash between those four forces happened nearly at the same time. The fuss was such that nobody could even choose who they would fight against. They just concentrated on attacking anything considered an enemy that appeared in their sight.
Rick and his group were focused on running and attacking at the same time, they couldn't stay at the same spot forever nor carry on battles for too long.
"Don't forget that you are the target here!" Rick oriented them. "Everything that you can use to disperse them and continue running needs to be used right now! Don't fear to spend energy!"
It was difficult to communicate with them due to the noises that were filling the background. They were right on the mid of the battlefield, after all. Even so, Rick's group could hear him and followed his orders the best way possible.
