Clay felt something touching his shoulder, which startled him. He nearly jumped from where he was.
Looking behind, he spotted Rick, who approached him without making any sound. He didn't have a nice expression on his face, rather he seemed to be pissed off for some reason.
"Are you sure that you are paying enough attention to the environment? For me, you seem to be spacing out since when we saw this refuge..."
Clay stuttered for a moment, unable to find an excuse for his lack of presence at that moment.
"W-well, it's not that I am not paying attention. I was just distracted for a moment with some thoughts and..." He was articulating more than he usually did, also as talking much more as well.
"You don't need to lie to me, Clay. I know you for a long time and we have been together all this while and coexisting with each other, going through hardships and all this sort of shit. You know you can't deceive me."
