"Y-you can... you can t... talk!?" Dean said, stuttering out of surprise. His voice was hoarse as well. Maybe it hurt his throat to scream like that when calling out Excalibur.
The Abyssal King just ignored him, taking off the other rocks that were burying his body. Dean was so concentrated before on feeling his sword, that he couldn't hear when that monster began to remove the rocks. There was a great number of rocks over Dean, so the Dread needed to dig a lot to find him.
That monster needed some more time to remove the last rock over Dean's body and take out the boy before the other piles of wreckage around collapsed and buried him again.
The dragon brought him to the top of those numerous rocks and left his body resting on top of one that had a plain surface.
