Dean felt that there was something very strange with the environment of that part of the cave since the start, but he couldn't pay attention to it because of the pressure that the Abyssal King was exuding.
For long while, he thought that it could be the consequence of that strong energy that the Dread had. However, his lack of concentration on his surroundings made him not notice what was happening around him.
Actually, part of that energy wasn't just of that particular Dread hidden in the depths, but also of another one nearly as dangerous that was living on that part.
Once the boy felt that change in the atmosphere and his senses alerted him that something dangerous was coming, he jumped backward a few meters away from where he was. Dean swiftly unsheathed his sword; he wielded that blade as if it was an extension of his body now. After two months of fighting and hunting nonstop, he had time enough to practice with it and master how to use his own craft to kill.
