The night in the Black fields was dead silent. Not even a single animal dared to make any noise. The hunters did so not to scare their prey, and the prey did it not to attract the hunters.
The nights of Saphyr, particularly on the Black fields, were getting each time more frightening as more powerful Dreads began to find their home in that place rather than in forests or jungles or wastelands. It would happen eventually, since Dreads can adapt to, basically, any kind of environment. Usually, at some point in their lives, they would just change the type of biome that they lived in and migrate to another.
The Black fields weren't as safe as before, but still safer than places like the Spear forest.
The only thing that disturbed the silence dominating that place was the brief noises of humans who were camping on those fields.
