It was still night in Saphyr at that time. The Dreads were lurking around and hunting down the poor humans that dared to show up outside the safety of their walls. Some bolder creatures were aiming to raid other refuges as they were too greedy for power and pleasure to just wander around in search of an unfortunate, lost human.
The sun would still last a long while to rise, and since it was winter, maybe it wouldn't even appear since the ring of clouds was denser than normal. There were days in winter when Saphyr didn't receive a hint of sunlight. It was very sad for the refugees since sunlight was part of their daily routine to keep their sanity. Because of that, the number of suicides and people getting mentally ill raised by a notch in winter and autumn.
