Once Susan realized that her flames enveloped Clay entirely just like they did with her, she got panicked and thought for a second that she was hurting him. She was going to leap to the side and get away from him but stopped midway in her motion when Clay's hand held her clothes tightly.
For a moment, she got perplexed.
'Is he awake?' she wondered, crouching on the ground again, approaching him. 'I don't think so... His body is acting alone.'
Susan enveloped his hands with hers. Clay's hands were full of calluses and bruises. So much that it nearly hurt her just to hold his hand, even though her palms were getting more calloused due to her constant training with the scimitars.
