Excalibur came towards Dean's hands after he chanted its name. It was too fast for Law to notice its approach in time to evade properly. By instinct, he threw himself to the side before it got him, but only enough not to get severely hurt. Excalibur pierced the air and took a huge chunk of his belly with it.
After dodging to the side, the relentless mercenary reversed the grip on his dagger and charged forward, aiming to get Dean as fast as possible before he could recover. Nonetheless, Dean was as fast as him in his judge and swung his sword as well, parrying his attack perfectly.
Law lost his balance after that technique. He didn't expect that Dean would be able to parry his blow so masterfully after the poor demonstration of swordsmanship that he made seconds ago.
'Not good! I need to back away for a while, otherwise, things won't go well. I put too much weight on this attack, so the parry really got me there!'
