Elise looked at Rick in astonishment as he talked about everything that he discovered in the past years. Each time, she got more and more interested in that man in front of her.
Before, she thought that he was just another opportunist trying to participate in their experiments to either Ascend himself or to discover how to forcefully Ascend someone else. Maybe he was just searching things about Nocturne because he heard some aleatory old man talking about it without any basis and found that it would be cool if something so powerful ever existed.
However, Rick wasn't like that. He knew about things that even Elise wasn't aware of. His knowledge was far beyond what she would expect, even when coming from someone who was researching Nocturne for years.
