As soon as Dean closed the distance between him and the leader of the Mandrake-bats, he didn't hesitate for even a second to begin his act.
He spun and threw his hatchet in its direction. The monster was flying and couldn't be fast enough to avoid that attack.
The boy didn't want to kill him at all, just make him fall to the ground and get within his reach.
The hatchet crossed the air fastly and struck the monster on its wide wings. It lost control of its flight and fell to the ground right after, shrinking in pain.
The other bats, seeing their leader getting in trouble, began to use their clicks in order to stun Dean and help their comrade. However, Dean was already prepared for that, his ears weren't unprotected by that time.
'I had some remains of clothing straps and my pants aren't in a good state as well. With this, I can cover my ears and avoid being completely affected by these shrieks!' Dean gave a faint smile.
