While I was listening to my professor about the history of our country I dozed of. I couldn't stop thinking about what I wanted to become later on, you see next week I'm turning ten and that's the day when I get to hear what class I have. There are four classes: swordsman, magician, beast tamer and puppeteer. Swordsman is a class that anybody can learn, but the strongest swordsman are only people who don't have another class. That's because you can't learn the other three, you can only be born with those, and if you're born with one of those you won't have much affinity towards the sword like someone who isn't born with a class, but that doesn't mean you can't learn swordsmanship. It only means that you can't be the best. Magic is something you're born with but like the other two you only awaken your power when you turn ten. When you're a magician you can have affinity with one or two elements. Water, earth, fire, wind, dark and light magic. When you have affinity with two elements it will take longer to master then if you have only one element. Magicians are praised highly due to the fact that magic is a gift from god. As the magic element there are gods for each of them as well. That's why magicians are the most favorable class to have. Next up are the beast tamers. Beast tamers summon a beast when the are ten years old and with that beast they will spend they're lives. The beast start of small and weak but over time they evolve and become stronger. Beast can also use magic from the time they are summoned. While the beast gets stronger, the tamer mostly struggles to keep up, due to the fact that they can't use magic. So most of the time tamers usually learn swordsmanship that can help them with they're beast. The last class is puppeteer, a puppeteer is a person who summons a puppet. Puppets are usually around two meters tall. When a puppet is summoned they will begin as a weak version of themselves it still has the appearance of the fully evolved version, when the puppeteer gets a better understanding of the puppet it becomes stronger . Puppets have five skills in total, the puppeteer can also use those skills. While the puppeteer looks and sounds strong it's very difficult to control because you have to use your left hand to control it, I don't know the specifics but imagine trying to control a puppet with one hand and use skills with the other hand, what I do know is that when the puppeteer first gets his puppet he gets 2 skills right away. Skills don't have a limit to the possibility of what it can be, it could be magic, it could be that you can strengthen your body or even use it to kill someone, . Killing is a normal in this country, nobles and the strongest people have the power and the military won't do anything to stop them, if the king declares you as a traitor everyone will have the right to kill you.
As I heard the class end, it was time for me to go back to the orphanage. I've been an orphan for 1 year now, my parents were killed in an arena while fighting two other beast tamers. I got to finish going to school until I turned ten years old.
As I was walking towards the orphanage I saw some kids walking and talking together, as they looked at me the started whispering and laughing. I was never popular buts I wasn't a loner as well before my parents death, but after that incident and I had to go to an orphanage all my friends started to ignore me and started talking about me behind my back. I didn't feel angry, I only felt lonely. I didn't have anybody to talk to, at the orphanage I didn't talk to anyone either, because I felt that nobody would want to hear my problems.
As I was walking over a bridge I heard something crack, I looks behind me but didn't think anything of it, the bridge was fifteen meter long and around 20 tall as it was pretty high up as it was above a river. This time I hear a louder crack. "I swear I heard something" as I stopped walking, I was around halfway across the bridge as I kept hearing cracks. "Oh shit!" As I guessed what was going on I started to run to the other side, but I was already to late as one side snapped. One side of the bridge started to fall, I tried to hold on to the side but again I was already to late. "Who the hell made this bridge?!" I yelled out while I was falling.
As I fell in the water I started to get pulled by the current. I kept getting pulled back down in the water while I was trying to get some air in my lungs, but I kept failing. As I kept trying I started to loose consciousness. "I can't die yet!" I kept thinking while trying to stay conscious. As I closed my eyes I fell deeper in the water.
I suddenly saw a disaster in front of me. I saw an older version of myself with a puppet that was wearing a dark cloak and had a scythe in his hands fighting against the military right outside the capital, I even saw the king in the distance that was shouting to the military like he was terrified of something. I even saw some big shots fighting each me, like an older version of the swords master Dennis, who was rumored to be able to slice a mountain with a single swing. I even saw the prince fighting me and a magician. As I was trying to see who the magician was,
I suddenly woke up.
