Lucas entered his bedroom and threw his coat aside. He slumped on the couch, tired as hell. The whole deal with investors took him all day to sort out and with the Japan trip looming nearer, he had to work long hours to put his work in order before he could fly off.
"I'll have to tell Lillian about this," he muttered. There was no one else in the mansion that day except for the security team outside. The staff were given the night off so Lucas simply wanted to go to sleep.
He leaned back against the headrest, closing his eyes. It was really peaceful and quiet, just the way he liked it. No sound nor any chatters but just him and his thoughts.
Then his eyes snapped open. There was something wrong. It was too quiet. Why?
He took his phone and dialed Lillian's number. The familiar ringtone was ringing from somewhere and he looked around. Was she in the house? Why was she quiet? Something was not right.
