The first rays of the sun broke Lillian's sleep. She slowly opened her eyes and stared at the empty space beside her bed for a long time. Lucas did not come back.
Her heart was in anguish at the thought that he might not love her. Was he really not feeling the same way for her? Or was she expecting too much?
She touched her lips. The same lips which he kissed last night. His warmth still lingered on them, making her heart pound even faster. Fresh tears were falling from her eyes and she sobbed into her pillow. The thought of not being loved by him was tormenting her soul and no matter how much she tried to reason with herself, the feelings would cloud her judgement.
DING!
The room's bell rang and someone knocked on the door.
"Lady Boss!" A familiar voice came through. "It's me!"
