Alice's words only made Lillian cry harder. The old woman chuckled and wiped her tears away.
"Silly girl!" she softly laughed. "Don't cry for me. You're making an old woman very happy in her last moments. If you're going to cry like this, I'll be sad again."
Lillian hiccuped. "You were sad, grandma?" she asked in a small tone. "Why?"
"I was worried for Lucas," Alice admitted sadly. "He embarked on a path from which there was no return. The loneliness which shrouded him made me worry for my silly grandson. I know he stayed alone because he did not want to hurt anyone. Whenever someone went too close to him, they were killed. Sometimes, he had to kill them himself."
Lillian gasped. Lucas had to kill people close to him?
"W-Why?" she stammered.
