"The first round is over! Let´s move to the next round after a short break!"
The break was truly short. I went to the toilet and when I came back I saw Kirishima falling to the ground, screaming.
"A brutal victory from Uraraka! That was a great start to the second round!"
"Now it´s time for the second match. Izuku Midoriya, from 1-A versus Juzo Honenuki, from 1-B! Let´s get it rolling! Start!"
Honenuki tried touching the ground to activate his quirk but he got thrown away by the wind Midoriya created. His battles need to be quick or he´d cripple himself.
"Another swift victory for Midoriya!"
It´s my turn now so I go down to the arena.
"It´s the third match of round two! We have Yasushi Kira from 1-A versus Hitoshi Shinso from 1-C!"
We stand on the battlefield.
"Start!"
I walk towards Shinso, but he stands still.
"Don´t bother. I know your quirk from Tokoyami."
He tries insulting me, but I pick him up not caring about his words. I carry him like a bag of potatoes and put him out of bounds.
"Don´t worry. I´m sure you´ll win next year. You´ll be an excellent hero, so don´t give up."
"The winner is Yasushi Kira form 1-A!"
After my victory, some of Shinso´s classmates tried cheering him up. It must suck for people with these types of quirks.
I swiftly return to my seat on the tribune.
"The last match of the second round is Katsuki Bakugo, from 1-A versus Neito Monoma, from 1-B."
"Start!"
Monoma unleashes a giant glacier at Bakugo.
He reacts by creating dozens of explosions and digging through the glacier. When he gets out he is met with an iron fist from Monoma.
He gets up furious and flies towards his opponent, propelling himself with explosions. He creates a blast in front of Monoma´s face and jumps behind him making another explosion.
It doesn´t really work due to Monoma turning into steel and blasting Bakugo away with his own quirk.
He fires a bunch of explosions mid-air, but that doesn´t save him.
"Bakugo is out of bounds! Monoma wins!"
"What?!" shouts Bakugo, raging.
"Haha, as expected from 1-A."
"I´ll kill you, bastard!"
They´ve got to tie Bakugo up to get him to leave.
Monoma was trash-talking him the whole time even escorting him away.
"Let´s go to the semi-finals, baby! We have Ochaco Uraraka versus Izuku Midoriya, both from class 1-A!"
"Start!"
Midoriya surprisingly doesn´t fire his air shot and stands still, sweating.
Then they get into an argument. Uraraka is yelling that he shouldn´t be holding back just because she´s his friend and Midoriya retorts with him not wanting to hurt her.
Uraraka finally convinces him to fight her seriously.
She is immediately blown away by the fast wind caused by Midoriya.
I´d also rather not hurt my classmates. That´s the reason I don´t use Shot Through The Heart. It´s just unnecessary pain.
Well, it seems like Midoriya doesn´t really have a different way to win so I understand Uraraka´s anger.
I come down to the field for my next fight.
"It´s the second match of the semifinals! On the left, there is Yasushi Kira, from 1-A versus Neito Monoma, from 1-B! They are teammates from the cavalry battle! Let´s see how it develops!"
"Start!"
Monoma once again starts with creating a big chunk of ice.
I know that Todoroki´s quirk is strong, but come on let´s use some creativity with that quirk.
The ice is pretty easy to break so I dig through it with a barrage of punches from Killer Queen.
I get out and see icicles aiming at me. They fly my way so I catch one and throw it back at Monoma. However, a few still hit me, creating scratches.
As my icicle nears him he catches it with the telekinesis quirk. It´s too late, though. Killer Queen has already touched that icicle.
I defuse the bomb and the surprised Monoma flies out of bounds.
"What a comeback from Kira and a great completion of our semifinals! This means that the final match will be between Kira and Midoriya!"
I go to the waiting room and contemplate my strategy. I should be able to tank these air shots indefinitely with Killer Queen's defense, but I don´t want to wait for Midoriya to break all his fingers.
It´s time for my match so I come back to the field.
"Ladies and Gentlemen now we will find out the strongest first-year student of U.A! We have Izuku Midoriya who scored first place in both previous games against Yasushi Kira who passed almost unnoticed!"
"Now... Start!!!"
"Smash!" yells Midoriya while breaking his finger.
I guard myself with Killer Queen from the high winds. It pushes me back quite a bit, but I swiftly move to my starting position.
Midoriya then launches himself towards me at high speed.
This sucks Killer Queen is not stronger than his punch and I can't make him explode.
I kick the ground with Killer Queen´s leg and jump over him.
Midoriya misses me, panics, and flies to the wall on the side of the stadium.
No backup plan, huh? Well, he gave it his all.
"Midoriya is unconscious! The winner is Kira!" Midnight announces my victory accompanied by cheers from the audience.
Robots carry Midoriya into the infirmary and Cementos remakes the field.
"We´ll have a break and continue with the award ceremony!"
I return to the tribune to my friends.
"Congrats, dude you´ve done it." said Kaminari.
"Fate was on your side." added Tokoyami.
"Thank you, guys."
"Good job, but the last match was kind of embarrassing." says Jiro.
"You know at first it didn´t occur to me I could just step aside. I had wild ideas like detonating the ground."
I hear laughter on the other side of the wall. "Ha, ha, ha so stupid as expected from someone from 1-A. ouch!"
Kendo peeks over the wall. "Sorry. I´ll take care of it."
After a while of chatting Present Mic calls everyone to the middle of the arena.
"Now we will begin the award ceremony!" says Midnight.
We eject out of the ground on a pedestal. I stand in first place with Midoriya on my right side in second place and Monoma with Uraraka on the left side in third place.
"The presentation of the medals will be by this man."
All Might jumps down from the roof of the stadium with his signature smile.
He goes around us giving medals and saying something encouraging.
"Now young Kira! You showed us a great display of strength. Keep working hard and you´ll be a hero in no time."
"Thank you"
All Might then turns to the audience. "These were the winners this time, but anyone here could have ended up on these podiums. It´s just as you saw... Competing! Improving yourselves! And Climbing even further beyond! The next generation of heroes is definitely sprouting! I have one more thing to say!"
"Please say it with me!"
"Plus Ultra!"
After All Might´s speech, we went to the classroom with Aizawa.
"There will be no school tomorrow and the day after. I´m sure some of the pro heroes who watched the festival will want to recruit you. Well go rest and we´ll go over that after your days off."
And with that ended the school sports festival.
