Chapter 44 - CHAPTER 43: UNFORTUNATE EVENTS

Meanwhile, in a room inside the village chief's mansion, a boy of about 7 years old sat, apparently deep in thought.

If Abel were here, he would immediately recognize that it was the ruthless boy who attacked him a few moments before, but perhaps he would be surprised as, unlike his calm and dominating appearance, his expression at this moment was quite terrifying, apparently he had remembered something unpleasant.

"Damn, that damn pharmacist refused to sell me the pure water flower, without it, I won't be able to score points with the Azure Cloud Sect Elder."

The boy this morning had eavesdropped on an argument his father had with one of the elders who had arrived visiting the village, although he did not know why he arrived unexpectedly (by the time he arrived, they had already stopped discussing that topic), he did hear a request that the old man made to his father.

For a moment, the conversation the boy overheard played in his mind.

"Then I hope you prepare, I am only informing you in advance as I welcome the talent shown by your youngest son, in addition to your father's recommendation."

Those were the words the old man said to his father, who immediately bowed in respect before replying:

"Don't worry, my son has shown great talent in cultivation, it's just that I find it somewhat strange that his sect that stands out for his water attribute techniques looks for my son who has an affinity for fire."

Hearing this, the old man frowned for a moment before replying:

"I'm not very sure either, the sect master ordered to search for talents with affinity for fire recently, and among them, his son is one of the most outstanding talents we found."

Although still somewhat doubtful, the village chief could only sigh before giving his word to the old man.

Thus, the old man was about to leave, when apparently he remembered something and went back to the boss.

"Yes, one more thing, the sect is looking for a certain spiritual herb, so a mission was established for it, I thought that since the Dhaur forest is close to you, your probability of finding it is quite high."

At this, the village chief was a bit surprised, before saying:

"While it is true that during this time we have found quite a few spirit herbs, if it is one that even you need I doubt we can find it."

Hearing this, the old man only smiled a little and replied:

"Or don't worry about it, I just asked casually, after all, you never know what might happen, so even if you don't find anything, it doesn't matter."

Hearing this, the village chief breathed a sigh of relief before saying:

"If that's the case, then take a load off me, we'll do our best to find that spirit herb."

Saying that to himself with great confidence, the village chief smiled satisfactorily.

At this, the old man nodded and said:

"I do not doubt it, the grass is a flower of pure water, generally they grow on the banks of rivers with a great concentration of spiritual qi, if you get it, I will give you a few points so that you can directly exchange anything you need with the sect."

Saying this, the old man thought for a moment before adding:

"Also get ready, there is not much time until the selection, so have everything in order, I will return a few days before, if you find the grass, you know how to contact me."

And saying this, the old man left the mansion, leaving behind the village chief, whose smile quickly disappeared as he frowned.

"The only thing I heard was trouble from him, not just the advance selection or the spirit herb, what worries me is the sudden interest of a sect dedicated to the water attribute now taking an interest in cultivators with the fire attribute."

With this doubt in mind, the chief left the room and went in the direction of his room.

Having finished remembering this little episode, the boy pondered for a moment.

"By 'selections', I think he refers to the competition organized by the sects to recruit disciples, but as far as I knew, that's 2 years away."

"Well, if for that the old man arrived this morning, then with more reason to obtain that flower of pure water, with it, my entry to the sect and my stay in it will be much more fluid, I need those contribution points."

Many of the sects organized resource distribution in this way, because each sect had a large number of disciples, although they gave a certain amount of resources each month to their disciples, if they did not stand out, then they would be expelled.

But here was the problem, with more resources, the more the disciples progressed in their cultivation, this is why the fight for them was quite close, and that is where the contribution points came in.

With enough contribution points, you could exchange them for resources, be it pills, martial techniques and cultivation manuals, which is why each disciple of a sect valued each contribution point highly.

But obtaining contribution points was not easy, when a disciple entered a sect he received a certain amount to meet his basic needs, if he wanted to obtain more, then he had to perform the tasks that the sect entrusted, the more difficult and dangerous it is, the greater the amount of points they give you.

Remembering this fact, the boy became more enraged when he remembered the refusal of the pharmacist, after all, for him it was as if the pharmacist denied him his contribution points.

"I was just a little slower, otherwise, that pure water flower would already be mine and I would just have to look for my chance to hand it over to the Azure Cloud Sect."

In itself, it could be said that the boy had very bad luck.

After learning about the flower, he recalled that, one of his companions who always went hunting, mentioned that the last time they found a good place for cultivation in the forest near a river, the problem was that, apparently, a beast they had made their lair in that place and, as they had few people, they decided to leave her alone for the moment and return on the next exit.

Thinking about this, the boy made an audacious hypothesis, if what protected the beast could be a flower of pure water? old man about the place where these grew.

With this thought in mind, he calculated that that group should be returning by now, and if they found something, they would most likely immediately trade it or sell it to the village pharmacy.

Thus, the boy went quickly in the direction of the forest, hoping at least to intercept the group to test his hypothesis.

Sometime later, the boy managed to find the group, and when the group told him if they found a special herb in that place, they recognized that they did, and that the beast also took a lot of effort to defeat it, their first encounter being a total defeat.

The latter mattered little to the boy, who upon hearing that they found a particular herb in that place, became enthusiastic before demanding that they deliver it to him and that he would later compensate them for it.

Unfortunately for him, the group told him that, since they had no idea how to deal with the flower, in addition to not having a special place to store it, they decided to make it as rudimentary and barbarous as possible, they took the flower and chose someone long enough quickly to get to the village quickly and have the pharmacist take care of her.

Hearing this, the boy almost insults and reprimands them, but he held back and asked how much time had passed since then, to which the group told him that it had already been a few hours, so he should be arriving at the village by now.

Thus, without saying goodbye to the group, the boy fled in the direction of the village again, regretting that he had not passed the pharmacy before leaving in the direction of the forest.

It was some time after that, near the pharmacy, she ran into Yun who was also going to her to buy a medicine, in the end, the 2 came to her, only to realize that the hunter had already sold the herb to the pharmacist.

Although this disappointed the boy a bit, he still calmed down, before asking the pharmacist about the origin of the herb.

Which, to the boy's amusement and happiness, was really a flower of pure water, and which, despite the rude treatment of the hunters, was still in good condition.

The rest is easy to deduce, the boy demanded that herb from the pharmacist, which he refused, apparently he had other plans with the herb, which ended up enraging the boy culminating in the meeting with Abel.

Right now, the boy could swear that it was his most unfortunate day so far, first filling him with hope for his life in the sect until he was driven to despair over his inability to obtain the spirit herb.

"Hmph, although I didn't want to resort to it, I have no choice but to tell my father about the herb so that he can snatch it from that damn pharmacist, it's just that my reward will be much less than it would be if I formally presented it to the sect."

The boy took a while to compose himself, his emotions were still quite agitated, you could say that this was his first setback so far, so it was not until dusk that he managed to calm down a bit and thought about another topic interesting.

"That aside, I did not expect that there would be another fire attribute cultivator in the village, furthermore, my father did not comment on this to the sect elder."

"Hehehe, and not only that, it seems that his talent is even greater than that of my stupid brother, I wonder, if I comment this to the sect, will I receive any extra benefits?"

This idea crossed the boy's mind before he sighed and shook his head.

"Forget it, if my father did not say anything, it must be for something, besides that blow of mine must have left him badly injured, I doubt that he can do something with the national teams so close, hahahaha, poor bastard, his future was ruined that way."

Laughing at the misfortune of the boy he met this morning, the boy got up and went to his father's room.

Meanwhile, in the village library, Abel sneezed as he read a rather interesting book.

"Strange, this is the first time something like this has happened to me since I came to this world, I doubt it's a cold... Is someone speaking ill of me?"

With this doubt, Abel continued reading his book calmly.
