Chapter 34 - CHAPTER 33: PLACE OF STAY

It was already night when Abel arrived at the village, when entering the guards they saw him for a moment before turning a blind eye, without paying more attention to him.

This sight did not surprise Abel, from what he noticed, they were both the same guards who greeted him in the morning when he arrived with the old man, so the fact that they let him in without further ado was no surprise.

"Although I was hoping that at least one would give me some information about where I will stay, shouldn't the guards be the ones briefed by the village chief to give me instructions?"

With this thought, Abel walked through the streets of the village, which were illuminated with a kind of lantern which had a bright stone inside, which was the one that illuminated the path.

Although it was just dusk, there were not many people outside, but from what he could hear, apparently the families were already in their homes, so apart from the occasional who passed by seeing it for a moment before ignoring it, the place was empty and lonely.

"I guess it only remains for me to head towards the great mansion I saw in the morning, that should be the village chief's house, *sigh*, I just hope they don't kick me out for asking at night."

While he was reflecting on the worst that could happen and how he should handle it, Abel came to the library, which was very well lit, had 4 floors and from what he could see, there were still people inside.

"Apparently they still haven't closed the place, although now is not the time to go inside, it's good to know that I can stay there until the night, that reminds me of my time in the mansion with the librarian."

Thus, remembering those moments of reading as if they had been years ago, Abel arrived at the mansion of the village chief, which, as far as he could see, had no guard guarding the entrance, as anyone would expect.

"It seems that I will have to knock, but really this place is quite large, although it does not compare to the mansion where I lived, it is still quite large considering that this is a village and not a town, but again, I guess this village must be especially if there are only cultivators in it."

Without further delay, Abel knocked on the door, the mansion at first glance was quite large, the entrance had a fairly thick double door with a lion knocker, which Abel used to knock on the door.

Without knowing the customs of the place, Abel knocked on the door with the lion knocker 3 times and waited for someone to attend to him.

So he waited for about five minutes, without getting any response, Abel was about to knock once more when he heard footsteps, this stopped him from doing anything else while he took a few steps back from the door and waited for someone to attend to him.

Shortly after stepping back, the door was opened, which was opened by a lady in her 30s, she was wearing a maid's uniform which reminded her of the nobles of yesteryear from her previous world, she had her hair tied up and her complexion was quite pale, which, along with the moonlight, made her look somewhat terrifying.

The lady watched him for a moment before speaking to him in a monotonous and disinterested tone of voice.

"You must be the boy the man told me about, come on in, you can stay here for today."

Thus, without giving Abel a second glance, the lady turned as she returned to the mansion.

Abel thought for a moment before plucking up his courage and following the lady.

"If it wasn't for the mansion being well lit, I would have run out of fear by now, hell this reminded me a lot of horror movies I'd seen."

Making fun of himself, Abel followed the lady into the mansion, the first thing he saw was a large lobby very well furnished and decorated, reminding him of the old houses of rich nobles from the movies.

"For a cultivation world, this place has more western than eastern so far."

With this thought in mind, Abel followed the lady who had already turned down a corridor to the left, not wanting to be left behind, Abel quickly caught up with her while looking at the decorations and paintings there were of her.

Thus, five minutes passed until the lady stopped in front of the door of a room, which she opened before signaling Abel to enter.

It should be noted that the lady did not say anything at all the whole way, so, with doubts in her mind, Abel entered the room.

The room was not very big, it was also not as well decorated as the one he lived in Kunlun, it had a not very luxurious large bed, with a night table on the right side, the floor was fully carpeted, and on top of it there was a chandelier which Abel recognized was apparently made from the glittering stones he saw on the way, in conclusion a small and modest room.

Seeing Abel examining the place, the lady coughed a little to get her attention before saying:

"Here he will sleep for today, tomorrow morning someone will come to take him to his residence, so, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to leave."

And with an elegant gesture of farewell, the lady left, leaving Abel alone in that room.

"Well, I guess that's it for today, I'd better go to sleep, after all I'm a bit tired from all the research I did during the afternoon."

And without worrying about anything else, Abel went to sleep peacefully, apparently he was more exhausted than he thought, since he fell into a deep sleep a short time later.

Meanwhile, the lady was heading towards a room on the second floor, which, upon arrival, even before she could knock, was called by a calm and indifferent voice.

"You can come in."

Thus, without further delay the lady entered, who once inside made a polite gesture of greeting before turning to this person.

"The boy has arrived, I had him stay in a room on the first floor for the moment."

Hearing this, the man in front of her, who was sitting cross-legged on the bed and with his eyes closed, only frowned before replying:

"Okay, tomorrow I'll have one of the guards take him to the cabin, plus do me a favor and notify Elder Grant to let him enter the second floor of the library."

Finishing saying this, the man did not say more, implying that that was it, the old woman only bowed before saying:

"As you order."

She so she left the room, making sure not to make any noise, leaving the man alone in her meditation.

"*Sigh*, as expected of my father and that senior, they didn't even tell the child where he was staying, well, I just hope that there is no other nuisance and that the child knows how to behave."

Thus, knowing absolutely nothing about this discussion, Abel, who was sleeping like a pig on the first floor, spent his first night in the village.

The next morning, Abel was awakened first thing in the morning, even before the first rays of sunlight, by a knock coming from the door.

"Young man, the guard who will take you to his residence is waiting for you."

And without verifying if the child was awake or not, the lady left the room.

Abel at this could only sigh in surprise.

"Incredible, only with the knocks on the door she managed to wake me up, apparently, I knew that only with the knocks on the door she would wake me up, I wonder what level of cultivation this lady has, after all, if she is a maid of this great mansion, your cultivation level must not be low."

With these thoughts Abel got up from the bed, arranged his clothes a little, stretched, and then quickly left in the direction of the lady's footsteps that were going down the hall.

By the time Abel reached the lobby, the lady was talking to a young man in his twenties, who, seeing him, quickly parted.

The young man had an indifferent look on his face as she looked at him, she watched him for a few moments before saying:

"Follow me, I will take you to your place of residence."

Saying this, she waved the maid goodbye and hurried out of the mansion, without giving Abel a second glance.

The maid didn't seem to want to tell him anything else either, so Abel quickly started to follow the young man.

As he left the mansion, he noticed that the young man seemed to be walking at a slow pace, but was actually moving quickly, which surprised him.

"He must be using some movement technique, but I can't see the point in doing this, can't you just walk quietly while you guide me to the cabin? Or is it some kind of test?"

Thinking about this, Abel quickly approached the young man, but still maintaining a certain distance from him, as he went to the cabin that would be his home in these two years.
