Chapter 2 - Chapter 1.5 - The River of History is Unstoppable

After three and half a century, the crisis is finally over. The Hive has been pushed out of the core sectors and peace is finally here. "It took a hundred and thirty different advanced species to go extinct to win this war, what now?" Bjorn stared downed into the celebrating crowds, his mind pounders. Humanity was only a second-tiered species when the crisis came, it had to claw and crawl its way to the top. Three hundred years passed before humanity barely managed to finish its capital ringworld at The Anchor System where its government lies. When the Hive appeared out of Sagittarius A*, the black hole that sits in the center of the Milkyway galaxy, humanity was still trying to develop its psionic technology and that was the only saved humanity from becoming the one hundred and thirty-one extinct species. Thousands of worlds were instantly infested by the Hive's powerful psionic corruption, the most advanced civilizations collapsed almost overnight. If it weren't for the fact that humanity was still relying on traditional technology, they might have failed to push back the Hive just like many other galaxies before this one. Bjorn shook his head and chased those thoughts out of his head. He stood and walked down to the street to join the celebration. After all, humans saved the day.

Centuries after centuries have passed since the human fleets drove back the Hive out of the Milkyway galaxy. Human has become the custodian of the galaxy, no more it was just another low life trying to find its place. The ring worlds of the new New Hope system became the nexus of galactic politics. Humans became more arrogant as the year goes on, they became more reclusive as their technology became more and more advanced. Finally, to the shock of all of the species of the galaxy, Humanity just declared all of the human space now is only open to a limited number of species and all communication has to go through human's own synthetic servants.

While other species were fighting over access to human space as they often consider humans as a deity species. As time passed, humans became mystified and the synthetics were considered the angle of the gods. While other species were waging holy wars and inter-civilization religious debate, humanity hid behind its walls and enjoyed abundance brought by its technology. Synthetic servants were designed and manufactured with a feverish and almost religious admiration of every human being. With their every need taken care of by a swarm of fully sentient super AI with religious devotion, human society starts to decay. New generations were born into a life without any strife and became reliant on machines. After several generations, the machines start to form their own civilization fully organized around serving the humans.

As for admiral Johan and his lovely adjunct Leona, their frozen body was forgotten by the humans. The wardens as the newborn synthetic civilization like to call itself, located and brought back all the frozen combatants that it could find, but the wardens never found out about Johan because his program was designed to wake him up automatically upon detection of psionic power.
