Chapter 21 - chapter 21_it's okey, iam here

Continued from chapter 20

Chalee stood by the window, his fingers lightly tracing the frosted pane as he gazed out at the snow with a bittersweet expression. It was one of those days where emotions tangled together, leaving him feeling a mixture of sadness and happiness. The soft glow of the streetlights outside illuminated the swirling flakes, creating an almost magical scene. But Chalee's heart was heavy as he took a deep breath, stood up, and slowly walked to the door. He glanced down at the floor, his demeanor mirroring that of a dissatisfied movie character despite the otherwise pleasant atmosphere.

When he turned the handle and opened the door, his brow furrowed in confusion. No one was there. He looked around, the night was silent, only the whisper of the wind accompanying the snowfall. It was puzzling. "I was sure I locked the outside door of this café," he thought, "so who could have come inside to knock on this door?"

The unanswered question gnawed at him, leaving him unsettled. As he pondered the mystery, a peculiar feeling crept over him—an inexplicable sense of unease. Unable to pinpoint the source of this discomfort, Chalee decided to return to the room where Snow waited. This time, he made sure to lock the door behind him, determined to ignore any further disturbances. Whoever it was, they would not be getting in.

When he reentered the room, he found Snow turned away, appearing to be asleep. He approached her quietly, leaning in to whisper, "Snow, dear… are you sleeping?" She didn't respond. Chalee smiled softly, assuming she had drifted off while he was away. Not wanting to wake her, he gently kissed her forehead and slipped into bed beside her, wrapping her in his arms. Tomorrow was a big day, and they both needed their rest.

The wedding was set to take place on Jeju Island, a locale known for its stunning vistas of the sea and lush landscapes. Kavin had gone all out, renting a beautiful beachfront venue to host the celebration. The event organizers had spared no effort, crafting an enchanting atmosphere that left everyone in awe. It was a day that held immense significance for all.

The ceremony was a seamless success, and joy radiated from everyone present as Kavin and Minju exchanged their vows. In a charming twist of fate, the bouquet was caught by Kavin's cousin, Kiara. Snow couldn't resist a playful jab, saying, "Who would be willing to marry this naughty girl?" Kiara laughed, her affection for Snow evident—though Snow was blissfully unaware of how deep that friendship ran. Kiara had returned from abroad a year ago, and her bond with Snow had only grown stronger.

Chalee often found himself envious whenever Kiara and Snow shared a moment. With a teasing smile, he remarked, "Kiara, your cousin has finally found someone who won't leave his side forever. When are you going to marry someone?" Kiara shot back, a mischievous twinkle in her eye, "Don't tease me, or I'll snatch Snow from you and marry her myself!"

As the festivities wound down, the guests began their journeys back to the city. Kavin and Minju left in a car adorned with fresh decorations, ready to start their new life together. The once bustling Jeju Island grew quiet again, the echoes of laughter and celebration fading with the evening light.

At around 5 o'clock, Chalee and Snow also set off towards home, their journey taking them through a picturesque village by the beach. As they drove, the towering mountain came into view, its majestic presence a breathtaking backdrop. Out of nowhere, a loud honk blared from behind, sending a shiver down Snow's spine. Sensing her fear, Chalee gently squeezed her hand, reassuring her, "It's okay. I'm here."

In that moment of distraction, a large lorry appeared, barreling towards them from the opposite direction. Chalee's heart raced as he slammed on the brakes, but the sandy road betrayed them. The car skidded uncontrollably, hurtling towards the edge of the valley. They collided with a rock, the impact shattering the tranquility of the otherwise serene evening…
