Synopsis
Arthur Windsor started playing vrmmorpg's proffesionaly at the tender age of 17 and he's shocked the world since then. When the most popular vrmmorpg of the decade -- Destiny, was released it only took him a year to become the indisputed number one player in the world as he came first in the worldwide monthly ranking 12 times in a row. The day the ranking went up for the 12th time, the most influential gaming company in the third sector -- Valour, approached him, hoping to have him join their ranks, which he did. Arthur went on to lead Valour's most skillful team -- Team Retcon, in the yearly Championships and shockingly won it three times consecutively. Everything was going great for Arthur, he was rich and he had his dream job. If only he knew this would all change when the fourth year rolled around. Chapter 1 - Expulsion

[10th May, 2134]

"I'm sorry Art, but the board has already made it's decision to strip you of your role as Captain of Team Retcon" said Walter, the manager of Team Retcon.

"What!? Just because I lost one championship!? I may have lost one but I've also won three" said Arthur dumbfoundedly.

"I'm sorry but this decision was endorsed by the head of the company, so there's nothing anyone can do" replied Walter with a pitiful gaze.

*Sigh*

"When do I have to leave?" said Arthur after taking a deep breath

"Effective-immediately" replied Walter sharply.

"Heh why the rush?" said Arthur with a self-deprecating smirk.

"They want to introduce the new captain right away" replied Walter with a shrug.

"Who's the unlucky bastard who has to take my position?" said Arthur with a hint of curiosity and indignation.

"It's... Jameson" said Walter after slightly hesitating.

Arthur froze up on the spot

'Wh- Why would they choose him over me!? He's just a spoiled brat!' thought Arthur due to the massive amount of shock he was feeling.

However on the surface he appeared much calmer than he really was.

"Is it because he's the head of the companys' son?" said Arthur after processing this new found information.

"I'm afraid so, though the CEO would never admit that and instead justified the change of leadership saying that your skills have diminished and that his son has a lot of potential to unlock" admitted Walter.

" Heh, what potential is there to speak of? He couldn't even get to level 50 in Destiny without my help" said Arthur ridiculey.

"And my skills have diminished? What bullshit is that? Everyone knows I'm still the best player in the world! The only reason we didn't win the Championship is because one of our teammates defected to the other team so we ended up being one man short" said Arthur indignantly.

"It's the president's choice and no one can alter his decision" replied Walter with a tired voice.

*sigh*

"Alright!" Arthur slapped himself to get some adrenaline running.

"Walter I have to thank you for all that you've done for me all these years" said Arthur with a genuine smile on his face as Arnold really did help him out a ton.

"You don't have to thank me Arthur, you're like a son to me. I just wish I could have done something to help you out" said Walter with a frown on his face.

"You've already helped me out alot more than anyone else ever has." said Arthur while patting Walters shoulder.

The two silently exchanged glances as their gazes held all the words they would ever need to say.

"I guess this is goodbye then" said Walter solemnly.

"Don't worry Walter this won't be the last time you hear of my name" replied Arthur.

"What are you talking about?" said Walter with a tilt of his head.

"Have you heard the rumors about the new game Nebula is making?" asked Arthur.

"Well, yes I have but aren't they just rumors?" asked Walter.

"Well they aren't just rumors, the top players around the world have all been given an opportunity to play it a week before its released and all you have to do is apply" admitted Arthur.

"Hmm, well what makes you think this game will be a hit?" asked Walter.

"A gut feeling." replied Arthur.

"Well alright, I wish you luck." said Walter.

"Thanks, I'm gonna get going now. Contact me if you need anything" said Arthur.

"Likewise" replied Walter.

Arthur walked the streets of the third sector aimlessly for a few hours, contemplating on what to do next, before finally deciding to officialy join Nebula's new game -- Conquest.

When Arthur arrived at his apartment, he went straight to his computer and opened his emails.

He clicked on the email sent by Nebula that read:

[Dear Arthur Windsor,

We at Nebula Corporations cordially invite you to play Conquest with a handful of other players a week before its release.

If you wish to join all you must do is apply and your VR pod will be sent to you approximately 3 days after you apply. This offer will only remain until the 16th of May.

The beta server for Conquest will be open on the 17th of May and will close on the 24th of May.]

{Apply} {Decline}

Arthur clicked on apply after carefully reading the email and was sent to another page where he had to input his address and his basic information.

After having done all that Arthur received another email by Nebula that read:

[Dear Arthur Windsor,

Thank you for accepting our invitation and we wish you the best of luck in Conquest. Your VR Pod will arrive on the 13th of May.]

*sigh*

'Finally finished! I was the best player in Destiny and I'll still be the best player in Conquest. Except this time instead of joining a company I'll create my own' thought Arthur with a semi relieved, semi determined expression on his face.

As it was about 8pm now Arthur decided to have some ramen for dinner and then do his daily workout of 150 Squats, 200 Push ups and 250 Sit-ups.

At 11pm Arthur got out of the shower and went straight to bed.

*pant*

'Wow today has really been a rollercoaster. Who knows maybe getting kicked out of the company is the best thing that ever happened to me' thought Arthur optimistically.

After finishing that line of thought Arthur peacefully slipped into dreamland.
