Chapter 1 - It begins

A small group of people, 6 in total, stood in front of a dark elevator.

An air of oppression came from the passage, black miasma seeping out from under the closed steel doors, collecting in a mist that hugged the floor in a condensed cloud of black and purple.

A girl from the group, carrying a sword as long as her arm, stepped forward and towards the stairs, she was coated in blood and her sword was dripping with black goo that slid off of the blade and fell on the marble floor with a soft "drop, drop, drop".

She stared at the stairs, her eyes following a script only she could see, she nodded and waved behind her, prompting the rest of the group to follow her.

Two boys were at the front, their faces stained with blood and their eyes red rimmed from crying, they threw one last look towards a male corpse leaned against one of the hotel walls, the one the right sniffed as he gripped his broadsword with both hands, the one on the left gritted his teeth and followed his friend, his sword thrown on his shoulder as he marched onward.

The girl behind them jogged forwards and overtook the two marching men, a whip that seemed to glow hanging from her belt moving along with every step, behind her were two more girls, both of them armed with daggers, one of them stayed at the back, cold eyes scanning the hall they were in, the other, and sixth member of the group, had her lips pressed together as she too threw a pain filled look to the corpse of the red haired male before she turned her gaze forward and stomped towards the others.

"It's here, we need to take this elevator down to the BOSS in the basement." The girl with the sword, the evident leader of the group, spoke and gestured with her hand towards the cold glinting doors.

The girl from the back, garbed in black clothing typically belonging to people up to no good or thiefs and assasins stepped towards the doors and let her eyes fly over something on the doors, she nodded and stepped aside, pressing the button to call the elevator after exchanging looks with the leader.

The others also stepped closer to the door and read what was on the doors as they waited for their way down to the basement.

[The ghost of obsession is guarding this elevator]

The tattle-tale "ding" that announced the arrival of the elevator rang from a small speaker placed above the steel doors as the elevator opened.

The elevator had red carpeting and a mirror wall that reflected the survivors bloody visages.

The leader of the small group stepped forward, her hand reaching out to the text, the text and the see through wall that separated the elevator from the hotel hall shattered underneath her touch.

With a sigh and a roll of her shoulder, she stepped inside, her bloody boots staining the carpet.

She looked in the mirror before pulling a grimace, she looked awful, her brown hair knotted and stained in ghost goo, one of her blue eyes sporting a blue rimming from where a lamp hit her in the face, full lips ripped from the same lamp, clothes torn and stained in both blood and plasma and her beloved sword practically drenched in both as well.

She made a dissatisfied noise and leaned against the corner walls, waiting for her followers to get in.

Her friend snorted at the noise as she sprung over the small crack between hall and elevator, orange eyes glancing at the mirror before she suppressed a laugh, her blond hair was stained red and there was a gash in her head from where a book hit her, she was missing a tooth, also from a book thrown in her face, and she ran a hand over her uncovered arms, smearing blood all over them and mixing blood with plasma, the black merging with red as the rest splattered on the carpet, her clothes didn't look any better than her friends, but her weapon was clean at least.

She leaned against her friend and a wall.

The right boy stepped inside then, but he spared the mirror no attention as he looked back at his friend, both their black hair in disarray and their brown eyes meeting halfway as they leaned opposite of the girls already inside.

The girl in black garb stepped inside next, cracking her neck to the right as she did so, cold blue eyes the only thing that was reflected of her features in the mirror, the rest hidden by a black hood, she leaned against the glass, using her black clothes to wipe off the blood from her twin daggers.

The last girl stepped inside with an exhausted sigh, her black hair matted and dull, dark blue eyes rimmed red from crying and lack of sleep, large circles of purple rimming her eyes, a large and ugly bruise making itself at home on her bare back, her ripped sweater doing nothing to hide it from view.

She leaned against a wall also and the leader hit the button to close the doors, clicking the "B" button to bring them to the basement.

"OK, we'll meet the BOSS next, if the boss follows the scheme of the rest, then we'll deal with another ghost, this time we can't let it surprise us, so expect everything, from telekinesis to psychic attacks, we don't have a mage anymore, so it it can resist physical damage, we'll have to rely and stall for Chelsy because she has the only weapon with magic attack, the clear?" The leader spoke, her voice heavy and serious, her friend next to her nodded, hand on the handle on her whip, ready to attack.

"Moritz, Fritz, you'll take the worst of it and try to distract it best you can, once it gets to much, switch out with either me or Oha, clear?" She asked, the boys nodded, Fritz answering with a "Got it."

She nodded, satisfied with their answer and looked to the last of their group, the girl with dark blue eyes.

"Koha, you'll stay at the back, heal only when needed and stay out of our way, if you find anything useful, tell Oha or me, got it?"

"Got it, Soph." Koha responded, nodding to her older sister, Sophie, gave her a curt nod.

"Alright people, shitty thing that we have a timer, but we'll have to deal with it, if we do this right, we all live, if we don't, we're dead, so play it good and play it smart." Sophie said, glancing at a sequence of numbers on her "Blood-watch".

"02:32"

The group nodded solemnly and they waited in tense silence as the elevator descended, the number counted down.
