Chapter 1 - Prologue

For as long as I can remember, I have always been an outcast. Kids never seemed to like me, but I never quite understood why. They always made fun of me saying mean things. It went on until high school. Towards the end of middle school, I stopped trying to get myself integrated and totally gave up. What would I gain from trying hard anyways ? No matter what I did, they either treated me as a pushover or hit me. So I spent most of my time hiding in the bathroom or library to read. I remember the first book I fell in love with being a love story between a human girl and a vampire. This was a very famous saga at the time and I was just sucked into it as I started to read. Thanks to this new hobby, time flew by quite fast and high school started.

High school was like a new start for me. Some people would still make fun of me but I made some friends and learnt a lot back then. We were a trio of nerds but we really clicked. I used to think we would be friends forever but we just lost contact when I decided to leave our small town to study in the south of France.

There, I met my three platonic soulmates. Swann, Momo and Yoyox. Those three are more family to me than my own family. They all helped me during my hardest times and made me the person I am today.

One day, after work, I decided to take a walk on the bridge of the Lez River. It was sunset and I was alone, thinking about the new start that was awaiting me. So what if my boyfriend and best friend betrayed me? I had a good job, and even though Swann was on the other side of the world and Yoyox lived a few hours away from here, I still had Momox who was like a lifesaver to me. I smiled to the sky and took a step back. But right when I was about to go back, I felt strong hands push me over the bridge rail, making me fall tragically. Then it was pitched back.
