Amber pressed her palms together and blew into them, 'This has to be it.' She looked up at the house again, 'Is anyone even living in there.' She was going to find out. She stepped onto the porch, almost on her toes as she thought the entire building would crash down on her.
She found a bell hanging from over the door and rang it. She waited with her hands crossed her chest, waiting for someone to enter but when she heard the footsteps creaking over the wood she had to take a step back, not believing that there was really someone inside.
"Hello." Amber heard a woman's voice on the other side before the sound of a lock being opened filled the following silence. The door slowly opened followed by a middle aged woman's face between the crack.
"Anyone there?" She bent her neck to look beside the door and Amber stepped in front of her.
"Oh...yes, someone is indeed here." She waved and the woman raised a brow at her.
