[Rose's world]
Loki sat in the passenger seat of the car observing the scenery as Violet drove at break neck speeds. Their goal was to get out of here, the semblance that belonged to the Reapers. One perfect for torture.
Looking at the back seat of the car where Rose sat curled up into a ball as violent sobs tore through her body. Part of him felt bad for what she had experienced, having been the only other person he was aware of to having been killed by the creatures. It was a miracle she was even able to function, or at least that was how it had seemed.
The pain of his past two deaths lingered in his mind and body. There were times he had to restrain the urges to panic, as it felt like yet another death was impending.
"Does anyone have any clue what's going on?" Violet would finally ask as the city changed from a more urban setting to a more futuristic city. Eventually the further they drove, they watched as it eventually became Atlas. "Cuz no one has told me that Atlas is a five minute drive from Vale."
"We are as lost as you are. We just have to figure out a way out." Loki would say in a low tone. Holding his revolver in his hand, almost as if he were waiting on another creature to show up.
"All of this had to have started when we were in the arcade..." Violet began thoughtfully. "And if that was the case, where were you?"
[Kersay's world]
Kersay stared at the grimm dragon that flew in her direction. She didn't know if the thing had already seen her, or if it just happened to be going in this general direction. But she wasn't wanting to find out, though not like she had much choice in the situation.
Where on one side, there was a killer dragon, and on the other. Was her own father. There was no real way for her to get away from the situation, not even with the powers she possessed. All because of the fear she felt.
That was however until a door had opened revealing Luca standing there breathing heavily as she looked around. Seeing a somewhat familiar girl who could've been Kersay. But she was far too young to tell, or at least seemed far too young to tell.
"L-luca...?" The young girl stuttered, the fear in her voice unmistakable.
"Wait a minute, is that really you Kersay?" Luca questioned before ducking out of the way of the mans kick.
Glancing in the mans direction. Luca gaped as she watched the man slowly changed into less of a man, and more of a woman.
"Okay, seriously. What's going on?" Luca would breathe pulling out two small smgs.
[Lilac's world]
"Lilac, are you able to move?" Cayde asked from the darkened alcove they had managed to run off too, after managing to escape the creature. While he appreciated the minor cover it allowed them, he wasn't fond of the two big openings that made them susceptible from an attack from both the front, and the rear.
Luckily enough. As things were, there didn't seem to be such a chance that there were two of those creatures here. At least that's what the evidence showed.
"Yeah... I'm good now. What's going on?" Lilac questioned her mind still reeling from what had happened. From what had nearly pushed her violently over the edge.
"From what I can tell. Either a very bad drug was somehow put into our ststems, we were transported to a alternate reality. Or we're now even further plunged into a horror movie." Cayde responded snidely as he himself was still trying to put the pieces together.
None of what has happened made sense. Even when it came to the way the buildings here in 'Atlas' looked. Having been from Atlas himself, he was rather familiar with the way the buildings and infrastructure was designed. And everything here seemed to be either off by milimeters or by whole inches in certain places. Where it would definitely be a source of structural weakness. At least in reality.
In this place however. There was no telling.
[Carters World]
Laying with his back on the sand. Carter breathed heavily as the pain coursed through his body.
Standing over him, Reaper smiled cruelly behind his mask. Holding a twisted looking metallic scythe in his hand.
"You're lucky I can't kill any of the important pieces." He'd say in a low tone walking in a slow methodical circle around him. "I wonder how it'd look if one of your teammates died. Especially that bandit brat."
Bandit brat? Carter thought to himself. He had never heard of one of his teammates being a bandit. Then again...the only one he knew the least about was Loki after all.
"Then again, Rosen never said anything about killing the team you happen to be with. Maybe we could make it the great tragedy of Vale. Your team framed with the death of your friends." Reaper continued before bursting out into boisterous laughter. "Oh man I'm just too much sometimes."
Carter slowly, painfully forced himself to sit up before glaring at Reaper. "I'm going to beat you if it's the last thing I do."
Words from the Author:
What a wild week it has been, first the closing down of Rooster Teeth, the company behind the original source material of this fanfiction. RWBY. While my thoughts on that are mixed, it is sad to see something that has been an inspiration as a creator be disbanded.
Secondly, the passing of the Mangaka Akira Toriyama the man behind Dragon Ball and so many other awesome works of art, he was also an inspiration to me as he was many. And it is still something I am reeling from just thinking about it. I wish his family and friends the best, and hope his rest is a pleasant one.
