Chapter 29 - E3 C1 The Morning Routine Part 1

Waking to the sound of a blaring alarm, Lilac let out a low groan as she struggled to open her eyes. She regretted going to sleep so late, but that wasn't to say she didn't have fun. Having spent most of the night with most of her team and their rival team CLVR.

They had stayed out until about three in the morning when Loki had eventually rejoined the group. Though that was about when the fun she was having bit the dust, as the thoughts of what Pixie had mentioned took root in her mind.

What a buzz kill.

Everything had been going fine up until they had gone to the arcade. Was it some kind of divine punishment for the things she had been involved with in the past? After all it made sense given all she had done to bury that part of her past deep.

But she didn't allow herself to linger on those thoughts.

Sitting up she frowned at a sight she never expected to see. Standing in their kitchen was Loki cooking breakfast, and laughing?

It was a sight that she never thought she would ever experience, and she had lived with him for two months before they even entered school. Had she fallen into a new life?

She looked over to Kersay who was in the process of meticulously brushing her hair. Which was something she had never seen in the month living with her as a teammate.

"Is it me, or is all of this wrong?" Lilac would question earning the attention of all of her teammates.

"Is all of what wrong?" Carter asked looking up from the table. He was shirtless for the first time too.

"Well first of all, you need to put a shirt on. I am blind enough as it is." She paused before directing her full attention to Loki. "Secondly when were you nice?"

"I have my moments." Loki said meeting her gaze with his usual glower.

"I guess you do." Lilac muttered to herself under her breath as she grabbed her uniform for the day, and went into the bathroom. It was about time for her morning ritual, which was to partake in one of her favorite parts of the day.

Feeding her addiction.

She turned on the shower before pulling out her pack of cigarettes and opened it. She frowned at the amount she had left.

"I could've sworn I had more than this..."she sighed lighting the cigarette and taking a long drag. She held it in savoring the feeling, resting her head against the wall.

Lilac slowly exhaled watching as the smoke filled the bathroom, with a small smile forming on her lips. Taking another drag she wiped the condensation off the mirror as she stuck out her tongue to see a small burn mark from last night.

Why did he fight to keep her from smoking? Hell like he cared, he was off galavanting around behind his girlfriends back. Men like him were scum.

Almost as if it were an act of rebellion she finished the one she had been smoking, going through a second and then a third only stopping when she had realized she smoked the last of her current pack, she'd have to go get another carton.

Finally she stepped into the shower once the water was finally scalding hot letting out a content breath as she felt, well for lack of a better word. Relaxed.

Standing there she stared at her reflection in the mirror she studied it to find something new. On her right leg were three fresh needle marks.

"No way..." she breathed as her blood ran cold. When did she relapse..?

No that wasn't it. It couldn't be it. This was too real to be a trip. Too real to even be happening. Too real.

Feeling panic rush it's way up. She ran out of the shower and swung out into the main room, at this point she didn't care about decency. She wanted answers.

"Okay guys, it's funny I get it. You can stop playing around with." She yelled at the three who all were staring at her.

Kersay and Carter were the first to look away. Yet Loki. His gaze lingered, not on her body, but on her eyes. Almost as if he never looked at her in that way.

"What are you talking about?" Loki questioned with a raised brow, almost as if he were noticing that something was off. But if he did, he didn't act on it. At least not yet.

"You're being nice, Carter still isn't wearing a shirt, and Kersay is brushing her hair! Very meticulously, don't get me wrong. You and perfectly brushed and straight hair slays. But that isn't you." Lilac would say to all of them. "What exactly happened last night? Did we drink booze and no one tell us? Did we do some literal "team- building" or what?"

"You don't remember?" Carter questioned. "You completely showed that E-girl what for at the Rhythm game. You even got the high score for the song."

"But...I don't remember winning..." Lilac breathed as she gripped her head in her hands as the world around her began to spin.
