Azura's POV
I remembered when aunt compared him to his dad, he reacted badly to it.
"Is Dan okay?" I asked slowly.
Fvck! That's a stupid question to ask Zura 🤦🤦 (referring to herself)
"What do you mean by that?" Aunt asked.
"No... I meant.....what's up with him? Is present character is different from his childhood." I said.
"And the other day when you compared him to his dad, he wasn't happy about it." I added.
And she took a deep sigh!
"That's why I like you Zura." She started with a smile.
And i couldn't help but blush a little.
"Dan went through, a lot as a kid. His story thought me, money is the least problem in life. Being forced to keep silence is a bigger problem." She added.
Forced to keep silence?
"You look confused." She asked.
"Yes aunt." I answered, as I picked the chips bag that was on table.
🧓 Debbie's POV🧓
"Yes aunt." She answered me, as she picked a bag if chips which was on the table and snacked on it.
I took another deep sigh.
"Dan's mother Amanda Johnson and I were very close. She was a very nice and hardworking woman. She cared so much about her family and even my lazy brother Victor.
She was able to manage my parents big and influential business successfully, and even made it multiply.
But Victor was so much of a womaniser. " I started.
"Womaniser?" Zura asked me, and i nodded positively.
"Even with that knowledge, Amanda tried to make out a happy family. Daniel, your husband, loved his mother so much, and he made us all happy.
Unknowingly to us, the poor boy was hiding a dirty secret from us all, which Victor my brother was involved. He would force him to keep shut, anytime he was home during holidays, and bring in his girlfriend along with his side chicks.
His girlfriend name is Emma, and she was just as pervy as he was. Anytime, she had a chance, she would sexually assault young Dan. But no one knew.
It was slowly Dan stopped acting like a child which he was, that Amanda was suspicious. She found out about all Victor's dirty deeds. Daniel was about 8-9 then. " I continued and took mother heavy sigh.
"And?" Azura asked, and my phone rang.
It was Marcus, I totally forgot we had plans today.
"I have to go Zura, we'd complete this conversation some other day, i promise." I said as I picked my bag.
She did not seem too happy, but i had to.
🌝 Anthony's POV 🌝
I had to leave for Canada, to celebrate with my family for the succees. But I could not stop thinking about Nora, she did not reply any of my texts, nor accept any of my calls.
I got to New York yesterday, and i called Charlotte to explain everything to her. She seemed happy, and promised to get Nora and i back together.
I can't believe I could believe such lie from Laura of all people.
When I saw Nora with Charlotte, i was so happy.
"Hi" I said unconsciously to her.
I had no idea on what to do or say.
If I was to confess my feelings just like that, or explain or that happened years back.
"What do you want?" She asked in an aggressive manner. I noticed Charlotte tried cautioning her.
"Leave her, let her speak." I said, totally confused on how to confess my feelings to her.
"I just wanna tell you something important." I started as my heart beat began to increase. I could feel my leg shivering, i had to do it. It's better late than never, they say. I have to fix things between us asap.
"And?" She asked, and I gave Charlotte a signal to leave, which she obeyed, not without winking at me.
"I....." I managed to say. But those words won't just come out.
"Use your words." She half yelled.
I'm a man, I've got to face this.
"Nora, i love you." I poured my heart out.
She was shocked, her eyes spelt shock.
"What you....wha you mean you love me?" She asked, trying to get herself.
"Listen Nora, i know what I did in the past was wrong, but trust me I've realized my mistake." I said, as I moved a little closer to her.
"What mistake?" She asked.
"Could we sit inside?" I asked, pointing towards the direction of my car.
And she agreed. We both sat at the back seat, and i summoned courage to explain to her.
"I'm all ears." She said to me.
"After my parents and i relocated to Canada" i started and she nodded her head.
"Laura texted, you had moved on with Jesse..... And i was so surprised and angry and...." I continued and her eyes were red.
"And you decided to move on, without giving me a chance to explain." She concluded.
I hope this ain't a bad idea. The more i speak, the more it feels like imma lose her forever.
"No bae, it's nothing like that." I tried to explain my self.
"Then, what is it like?" She asked.
"Listen..." I tried to say, but she wouldn't listen. She got mad, and alighted the car.
This ain't good at all!
I alighted as well, and called her, but she pointed her middle finger.
I should probably give her some space.
🌚Nora's POV 🌚
He called out to me, i was sick of hearing all the trash he was saying.
At first when he said he loved me, truth be told I was a little emotional, not until he told me the reason he ditched me.
Cuz, Laura told him I cheated on him!
For crying out loud, Laura was crazy about him.
He could at least asked me, to hear my side of the story. But hell no, he just concluded and decided to move on.
It woulda been better, if he claimed he was tired of us due to distance or any other factor than been brain washed by that stupid fool Laura.
Which means, he never did love me. I showed him love, i tried fighting for us, but he pushed me to the wall and now he's here showing me unnecessary sympathy.
"How was it baby girl?" Charlotte asked as she walked out of the coffee shop she sat in.
This must have been her idea.
"How was what?" I asked. And I'm pretty sure by now she'd have gotten the message.
"Don't.....tell me.... Where's Tony?" She asked.
"How's it my business? You knew what he was up to Char. and yet you brought me here." I complained.
"You knew how hard it was for me to get over him before, and now I'm finally fine and yet you expect me getting into the same pit twice."
"Listen, Laura caused all this." She said.
Which meaned she already heard his pathetic story?
"He caused it. He never trusted me, it's all his fault" I yelled.
I knew i was loosing it already. I needed a drink.
"Gotta go!" I said as I walked off.
I opened my phone, and blocked Tony. I've had enough of his selfish drama.
And that useless uncle Marcus, he wants me to get married, that's what I'd do. Get married, and let that fool see how what he did feels.
