Yi Tan laid flat on his back in the grassy field of Sei's small world and let out a long sigh of relief. He was glad it was all over for the time being. He did realize that after the first and second time, the pain did weaken a little bit but only a small amount. He was eager for the morning to come so he could see the difference in his body. He looked down at Sei, who was lying on his chest with flushed cheeks. Although he was in great pain, he could still hear her erotic noises as she refined the souls. His cheeks blushed slightly as he thought about it. But he didn't bring it up since for Sei, it seemed to be a very embarrassing thing.
For the rest of the night, the two did not speak. Sei laid on top of Yi Tan resting her head on his stomach. As for Yi Tan, he was going over the day's fights with the monsters, wondering what he could have done better in his mind. He really wanted to improve his skills, or else he would never be able to protect those he cared about.
When morning finally came around, Sei finally got up and adjusted her skirt. "You should get going. I am sure you probably need to bathe as well. The body fortification will expel any impurities in your body. There is a water source east of our location. How safe it is, I am not sure. But I do not detect any monsters nearby."
"I will have to find the water source then. Let's see just how much I have improved." Yi Tan said before disappearing. Sei bit her bottom lip and looked at the spot Yi Tan disappeared in as she softly mumbled: "Hurry up and grow up…."
Back in the real world, Yi Tan woke up and frowned. His whole body reeked of a putrid smell. He looked around himself to see he was actually sitting in a pool of black goop. He was actually quite surprised to see this. He never thought his body was filled with so many impurities or things that were just bad for him.
He climbed out of his hiding spot and made his way to the water source Sei had told him about. So far, he had not spotted anything strange or any monsters. With how sticky and disgusting he felt at this time, he hoped it would stay that way. He also had to wash his clothes. He did not take any clothing with him since he knew there would not be many chances to get changed during his journey.
As he grew near the lake, he spotted a small rabbit in the brush, which was perfect timing since he had yet to eat anything. Not wanting to cause too much noise in case there were any monsters nearby, he used lightning step to get to the rabbit, grabbed it by its neck, and snapped it, instantly killing it. "Sorry, little guy, but I need you to be my breakfast."
As Yi Tan held the dead rabbit in his hands, he realized he did not even have a knife to work with. "Sei, can you make me a few survival programs?"
"Survival? Sure. I should have them ready in thirty minutes." Sei replied in a happy tone. She liked messing around making programs, especially when she had nothing else to do, which was like always. And to be of use to Yi Tan made her feel like she was accomplishing something.
"Thanks, Sei."
When Yi Tan arrived at the water source, he found it to be a low-lying river. It did not look to be very deep but did seem to be flowing fast. He placed his dead rabbit on the ground and covered it with some rocks to keep anything else from trying to snatch it from him. He was unsure if this would work, but it should give him time to react at the very least. He then stripped down and placed his clothes on the river bank before wading into the water and letting the rushing water wash away the filth on his body.
He dipped his head underwater and looked around to see if he could see anything. It was then that he spotted something shiny on the river bed. "I wonder what that is..." Yi Tan thought to himself as he swam over to the object. The closer he got to it, he realized he recognized the shape. It was a sword like the ones he saw his seniors holding when they left on their missions. Yi Tan grew excited because a weapon would make things much easier for himself.
As he got closer, he realized that next to the sword was another weapon, a pistol. A magic power pistol! It was still holstered into its holder. He looked around to see some bones as well. He could only bow his head and apologize for stealing the dead man's things, but these were things he really needed right now, and they cost a good deal of money. It would be years before he could buy any kind of magic weapon.
Yi Tan was reaching his limit, so he quickly grabbed the weapons and their holsters and swam back to the surface. "Pah! Hah! Wow… I thought I was gonna drown there for a second."
With his body completely clean, he swam over to the shore where his clothes were and placed the weapons down before taking his clothes that had a horrid stench to them and dunked them in and out of the water a few times before scrubbing them together to get most of the filth off. Only then did he turn them inside out and used a few rocks to submerge them into the river to really give them a soaking.
Once that was set up, and he rigged a stick in the spot where his clothes were, he finally climbed ashore. He picked up the weapons and found a nice sunny spot on a dry rock to sit. He pulled the sword from its sheath and looked it over. He was surprised to see that there was not an ounce of rust on it. "Looks almost new… The same with the pistol..." The silver metal reflected the sun. He wondered just how long they were under the water for. The previous owner's body was nothing but bones so Yi tan was confused as to why the weapons were in such a pristine condition. "Well, whatever the reason is, I needed a sharp knife to skin this rabbit..."
