Yi Tan walked out of the chamber that led to another area. This area seemed to be interconnected to the other chambers. Everyone here was wearing the same hospital gown as Yi Tan. This meant that as Ana and Mei clung on to him, hugging him, he could feel certain parts very clearly. Tim stood there looking at Yi Tan with a big grin. "Hehe, brother, when did you get so close with these two girls?"
"After you left." Yi Tan said lightly as he patted the girls on the head. "It's good everyone made it."
Tim just stood there with a silly grin on his face. He felt this brother of his might look relaxed and cool about things, but in fact, he was able to make two girls he just met like him this much already. Even the hot headed rich girl was looking at Yi Tan differently.
Yi Tan looked around the area, which was located outside but still inside the building. In a way, the place looked like a park. There were benches and a stone path as well as grassy areas one could sit down and relax on. If it was not for the tall windowless grey walls that surrounded them, making it seem more like a prison, he would say the place was not half bad.
Many people were standing around. Each one of them also seemed to be a little confused as to what they were supposed to do next. "Tan…." Yi Tan, who was in a daze looking around, heard a soft voice coming from his side. He looked down to see Mei looking at him with red cheeks. It was only then that he realized he had been unconsciously scratching her ears.
"Ah, sorry..." Yi Tan retracted his hand and rubbed his nose. They were so fuzzy and soft He couldn't help it.
"It-It's fine..." Mei said softly. She then looked over at her miss, who was looking back at her with a smile. Making her feel even more embarrassed.
Yi Tan looked at the two girls, who were both smiling at each other, clinging on to him a bit confused. He wondered if this was going to become a habit for them. In line before the awakening, he could understand why they were clinging to him but now...
This was not to say he was not enjoying it.
"Any word on what we are waiting for now?" Yi Tan finally spoke up.
"No. we only know what is going on in the chambers, and that is it. But brother, you are really something. You and Ana are both sitting at 5000 for a power rating. Just shy of reaching the Earth God Ben Freeman's power rating. I reached 3000 and Mei 3478. We are all up there on the higher end of the spectrum. As far as I can tell, the average power rating is 2000-2500. There have also been a few who had power ratings in the single digits. To be honest, I feel bad for these people.
"As I said before, the Academy is a place where the strong are in power, so as long as you are strong, you can do as you please. So we are of the lucky few. Some of these people will end up dead or worse." Tim explained. He was very happy to have a power rating of 3000. It was not as much as his brother, but it was enough for him to hold his head high.
Yi Tan was lost in thought as he looked around. There was a few groups of teens with their heads lowered. Some were very young. One group that caught his eye the most was a group of four girls who looked to be twelve to thirteen years of age younger than them. "What are those girls' power ratings?" Yi Tan pointed at the group. One of the girls noticed this and shrank back even more.
"Ahh them… They are not only in the single digits but also have useless abilities. They will not have a good life." Tim said, scratching his head. He felt very bad for those four girls.
"I see… Mei, Ana, you two will need people to assist you in your day to day lives, so why not take in some help?" Yi Tan suggested. He could not save all of them, but at least these four younger girls would have a chance to live and finish their days at the academy, even if they were forced to be maids for the two girls.
Ana and Mei both smiled hearing this. Their impression of Yi Tan was growing better by the second. "We will be right back. Mei, come."
"Mmm!" Mei followed after Ana and walked towards the girls. Tim scratched his head and looked at Yi Tan and asked: "So… Brother, how did you do it?"
"Do what?" Yi Tan asked. He had no idea what Tim was talking about.
"Ana and Mei! Man, you can't tell me you don't know what I am talking about! How did they become so attached to you that they are now showing public displays of affection for you?" Tim felt left out! He wanted a cute girl at his side too!
Yi Tan looked at Tim and grinned as he said: "Because I am good looking."
"I see… Wait, are you saying I'm ugly!?" Tim was speechless! Where was his good brother from the day before!?
Yi Tan just gave Tim a smile, and neither agreed or disagreed. He was mainly concentrating on the naked girl swimming around in front of him. "Hehe, Tan, look at you! The ladies' man. Do you think they would still like you if they knew you were a pervert with a naked soul in your body? Should I make a program that beeps every time you have dirty thoughts?"
"Keep talking, and I will write a program that displays your entire body for all to see." Yi Tan snorted. Damn woman messing with me!
"Humph! Fine~! I won't tease you…. But I must say you are pretty kind hearted. Suggesting to have the two girls take in that small group was nice of you." Sei said, giving a nod of approval.
"I can only do so much. There are many here in the same situation. I only chose them because of their age. I'd hate to see them suffer for no reason." Yi Tan replied.
"Even still, that is four girls you protected from having something bad happen to them." Sei knew that Yi Tan could have just ignored it all, but he didn't. He decided to help than turn a blind eye. To be fused into such a person was not so bad.
"Even though I suggested it, whether it will work or not is another story. There is no telling what will happen when they are not with Mei and Ana." Yi Tan looked at things realistically. He had no idea how the school would set up the dorms or how the four girls will be dealt with. He only knew that if they could make a choice that might save them from something bad later on, he hoped they would take it.
A few minutes later, the four girls in question, Mei, and Ana all came walking over. Ana went right back to clinging on to Yi Tan's arm while Mei quietly returned to his side. "They agreed to our offer. Now we can only wait to see what will happen."
"Yep. That means you four need to thank Tan he was the one who came up with the idea." Ana added.
The four girls looked at Yi Tan and bowed their heads. "Thank you."
"It's fine. I just hope that the academy will allow it."
