My last resort is to check by the gate. We walk straight to the main house. Irina insists that I should go alone to see the queen, but I say a blunt no! I want to go with her, I don't want to leave her behind. I want to always be honest with my girl.
Well, mum is seated on the couch and she gives Irina a straight look. I feel as she cowers, but she retains her posture immediately. ''This is a family affair. What are you doing here?'' she asks Irina, and I take the opportunity to respond to her. I hate it when she intimidates the person I love.
''I invited her. She is my friend, and she is family. Whatever family affair there is, place it here because she is not going anywhere.''
''Great, that's just great, I am happy you have made the decision because whatever is coming her way is one of the best, she will ever get from me.''
