17 Years Ago:
The doctors crowded around the once pregnant woman, trying their best to keep her alive.
Doctor 1: "We're losing her! She's lost too much blood!"
Doctor 2: "Dammit we need some help!"
The doctors were in a panic as the woman faded in and out of consciousness. Back and forth she looked around asking, "Is he ok? Is my child ok?" The men did not respond as they continued trying to save the woman, all in vain. Deep down the men knew it was a pointless task yet they did it anyway to keep their eyes away from the creature the woman had birthed into this world. All the while a baby's screams filled the air and, eventually, drowned out the heart monitor that soon fell flat.
That's what his father said had happened when his child, Fuzen, had been born. The man never wanted to be a father, he never wanted to deal with children, he loathed them, but his wife had convinced him that it was important for their futures and a great part of life, now she's dead. All because of this little wretch he has to call his son.
The man was in his 30s when the wretch was born. The man had short-cut black hair with a calm composed face with deep bags underneath his eyes. His clothes were old and worn, a once clean black suit now covered in scuffs and tears. He had many rings on his fingers and a pocket watch on him at all times. His breath reeked of alcohol and cigarette smoke. This plain and normal, but slightly impoverished, man was quirkless, as was his wife, yet somehow his child was the exact opposite.
The child was hideous to look at, long black matted hair burst out of the child's head. Two uneven and malformed horns stuck out from his sickly pale skin as if they were stabbed inside his body rather than being naturally made. His maw had dagger-like teeth, disorderly and yet somehow perfectly white, an odd contrast to the boy's disfigured appearance. Long fingernails bore their way through his hands like knives in the dark and no matter how much the boy chipped them, they always would grow back. His hunched and lithe figure made him look like a gremlin or a child of the devil. A mythical beast that an ancient hero would have to slay rather than a living human being.
When Hokori Tozen saw his child for the first time, he had nearly fainted, the disgusting abomination couldn't be his son, yet it somehow was. When he demanded the doctors to explain how his child could be so disfigured the doctors told him that he must have a mutation quirk, something that was completely independent of his parents' appearance of familiar quirk history. Hokori could not believe it, this thing was somehow his child, had he been born a few generations ago he would've smothered that creature when it was born, for surely such a horrific beast could only be the son of the devil.
Miraculously, the man refrained from killing his abomination child and even refused to give the child up, thinking that his wife would not want such a fate to fall unto the child, despite how demented the child looked. He begrudgingly named the child Fuzen, a name that meant misshapen/sinful, as a statement to the child's appearance and his actions as being responsible for baring the child into the world, he thought that this was a punishment from God somehow, that for the crime of wanting kids so badly God had made this one deformed on purpose.
The man struggled through raising the child and tried his best to keep his son as normal as possible, but that was for not, for the boy could not help but get into trouble. He ran throughout the small apartment home and destroyed almost everything he had touched. These only got worse as he grew older and it finally came to a head when he was five years old.
12 Years Ago:
The thing had reached the age to go to school and the creature seemed excited. He had gotten along with the children fairly well, despite his appearance, mainly because many of the other kids had similar non-humanoid forms. The children played and ran around with each other and the young Fuzen felt like this is where he belonged. The teacher, a tall young man with blonde hair named Atsushi, announced that the children would have a show and tell along with their parents if they would like to come. All the children were excited to show off their favorite things.
Despite his father's protests Fuzen was allowed to join in and present, although his father said he couldn't go on account of work, nonetheless the young child was proud to be able to show off to his friends and enjoy all the other things his classmates would show off. As Fuzen walked into the building he saw his friend Maneru Arakan. The young boy had short reddish-auburn hair with tannish skin along with lizard-like teeth and a set of horns neatly placed on his head. His eyes were deep emerald slits that gave off an aura of optimism and positivity. His energetic personality complemented Fuzen's jitteriness. The boys had bonded almost immediately and through the past months, they had enjoyed playing on the playground together.
Fuzen: "H-Heya! Arakan! Over here!"
The horned devil boy was practically moving and bouncing at mach v as he approached his friend.
Arakan: "Hey Tozen! Are you excited? This is going to be great!"
The boys couldn't help but nod and jump around as the thought of the show and tell made them laugh and play around. Each boy bragged about how their thing was better than the others and playfully teased each other along the way. Eventually, the conversation drifted towards quirks and how they were around the age where quirks started to manifest themselves.
Arakan: "My quirk has to do something with fire or scales!"
Fuzen: "Why's that?"
Arakan: "My whole family talks about how their quirks are all lizard or dragon related so I'm bound to get something like that!"
Fuzen: "That would be amazing just imagine you sprouting wings and breathing fire on all the villains! You would be an awesome hero!"
As the pale child finished this statement his friend couldn't help but stand proudly with his hands on his hips smiling.
Arakan: "Yep my quirk's gonna be cool! Even All Might would be amazed!"
Fuzen: "Yeah right. Once my quirk shows up I bet it's going to be ten times better than yours!"
Arakan: "Ha! Fat chance! There's no way yours is going to be better than mine!"
The boys continued their banter until the third member of their little trio showed up. Seigyo Gamen was a blonde girl with lilac-blue eyes. She didn't talk much, being more focused with her games and tablet to be talking with others. Although she contrasted her two friends quite heavily, barely speaking at all, she still bonded with the two by letting them play different games on her tablet. As she walked up and sat down with the two young boys the both asked what quirk she thought she was going to have. She simply shrugged and looked over at their teacher Atsushi as he began to talk.
Atsushi: "Alright class I hope each of you had a great time picking out the things for show and tell!"
The parents, who stood in the back of their room, simply laughed as their children erupted into screams of chaos and laughter.
Atsushi: "Alright, alright calm down everyone. Before we start I just want to thank everyone who could come as well as those who helped set this up. I also want to say that when someone is presenting you need to be quiet and respectful to them so no talking. And if someone is presenting make sure to clap and cheer for them in the end, we don't want anyone to be left out do we?"
Students: "No Sir!"
Atsushi: "Alright, who wants to go first!"
The class once again devolved into screams and shouts. The teacher decided to randomly call on students rather than kids fighting for who got to go next. The kids presented various things, from toys to tricks and even to the occasional rock that the kid thought was, well it wasn't perfect because it wasn't round all the way and it still had a few scuff marks on it but the overall color of the geode was... oh too boring? Ok. Fewer rock facts for you. Ahem.
The class was having a grand time when one girl by the name of Oshita Mana presented. As she walked to the front of the class she was followed by a small dog.
Mana: "This is Adzuki! He's smart and fast and loyal and... and... The best!"
The petite girl put her hands on her hips as she smiled at the crowd. The dog laid down and yawned, not paying attention to what was going on.
Mana: "Adzuki sit... roll over... play dead..."
The dog looked up at her then back at the crowd and sneezed. Not moving at all. Y poor thing was very tired and had most likely been through trick after trick by Mans to the point where it had no more energy to perform.
Mana: "...so does anyone want to let him?!?"
The kids yelled loudly and raced up to pet the dog only for the teacher to stop them and tell them that they should do so one by one so that the dog could rest and not be overwhelmed by the crowd. The children begrudgingly agreed after the parents glared at them to behave. As the dog slowly made its way to each of the students, other kids went up to show off their things andverycoolrocksthatsomepeoplejustcantseemtoappreciate.
The small dog eventually came up to Fuzen who started to pet it slowly as he watched Arakan present his favorite soccer ball. Fuzen stared at his friend then looked at the dog who had fallen asleep in his lap. The child looked down and rubbed the dog's head as he noticed his hand start to bleed. The child, frightened by this, tried to pull his hand away but he couldn't remove it from the dog's head. He watched in horror as vein-like growths sprouted from his arm and grabbed onto the dog wrapping around the creature and digging into its skin.
A child screamed as Fuzen continued to seemingly attach himself to the dog. The parents looked on in horror and Atsushi grabbed onto Fuzen, trying to separate the two but Fuzen was too attached to the dog. With one last yank Atsushi pulled Fuzen away from the dog only for its head to rip off and, seemingly, disappeared into Fuzen's right arm. The lifeless body of the dog dropped to the ground, blood and bones pouring out from its body. Screams erupted and parents grabbed their kids away from the boy. Fuzen looked on and started to scream as he felt a deep pain in his right arm and stomach. Atsushi pulled out his phone and quickly called the hospital to pick the child up.
Hokori was in his office about to go pick his "child" up when he received a frantic phone call from, who he could only assume, to be his Thing's instructor. He informed the father that his child had manifested a quirk. Hokori at first was surprised but that soon changed into fear, then dread, then finally, to disgust as the teacher told what had happened.
He rushed over to where the monster was being held. The man was cursing all the way to the room where the doctor was doing tests on the beast. He sat on a chair with his hands together praying under his breath asking why God had forsaken him so. After hours of waiting the doctor returned with the abomination and sat him down on a table, the doctor then proceeded to pull out X-rays of the devil's body along with various test results he had collected in a folder.
The doctor was an older man with a bald head but a proud and bushy mustache. His short height and large body reminded the crazed monster of a bowling ball. The goggles the man wore were odd things, large gear-like protrusions jutted out from the sides, that then wrapped to the back of his head in a tight manner. His lab coat was fairly clean with the exception being that of a few stains on the bottom, long dried out scrapes of what Hokori assumed to be blood from various patients.
The rotund doctor adjusted his odd goggles and spoke in a very curt, and somewhat blunt, way.
Doctor: "My name is Dr. Tsubasa, I'm the doctor who was testing the young Tozen's quirk to see what it could specifically do."
Hokori bowed deeply and apologized profusely about what his child had done and had no doubtedly caused the doctor great frustration.
Tsubasa: "Nonsense, in all honesty the boy was fairly quiet and tame, once the nurses calmed him down and explained what we were going to do, that is."
The doctor sat down in a large leather chair and looked at Fuzen, a slight smile formed on the man in a comforting manner towards the young boy.
Tsubasa: "In all honesty I've never seen a quirk like his in the years I've been diagnosing quirks. It's quite powerful and very interesting, it's a shame it manifested in such a... gruesome manner."
Hokori: "So what's wrong with him?"
The doctor looked at the man with slight annoyance before talking again while pulling out Fuzen's file.
Tsubasa: "I wouldn't say there's nothing wrong with him, but I will say his quirk can potentially be problematic to say the least."
Tsubasa: "Right, now we're calling the quirk Flesh Absorption And Manipulation, until a better name can be found. The name is very blunt and on the point. You see, the boy seems to be able to absorb any organic matter into his skin and then use it by any means he sees fit."
The short man got up from his chair and walked over to the still somewhat frightened Fuzen and pulled up his shirt and turned his right arm around, showing his wrist. Both seemed to have large chunks of fur all along his body, matching the color of Adzuki.
"He also seem to be able to create or use any limbs, organs, or other appendages he absorbs from the matter."
He turned the boy over to show his exposed back. Hokori vomited in his mouth and coughed and gagged at what he had seen. The mutilated mouth and eyes of a dog stared back at him. The mouth opened and closed, as if the poor creature was still alive somehow. The doctor put the boy's shirt back on then sat back down.
Hokori: "This is appalling! Th-This Thing... there has to be a way to fix him!"
The angry father started to yell not caring that his son was only a few feet away. The boy crumbled up into a ball and started to weep as his father demanded some way to make the child "normal" again.
Tsubasa: "Mr. Tozen I must insist you calm yourself this instant! There is nothing wrong with your child! While his quirk manifested at a horrible time, that is nothing compared to the hundreds of children I have checked!"
The doctor pulled the wrathful father down to his level and aggressively whispered into his ear, so that the poor child would not be able to hear what he said.
Tsubasa: "They're are many times when a child manifests a quirk they injure and sometimes even kill! Not only those around them but themselves as well! Some people are unable to control their quirks which leads to wanton death and destruction! I will have you cease this deformation at once lest I call the police for verbal abuse of the child!"
The doctor let go of the man's collar and walked over to the crying boy and handed him a sucker for his bravery. Hokori couldn't believe what he was hearing, the already disgusting freak he was forced to call his child had gained a quirk just as hideous as his appearance. The man cursed the doctor along with his spawn in his head and blamed the devil for cursing his bloodline.
The father signed and unclenched his fists and walked over to the doctor who had just calmed down the parasite's tantrum.
Tsubasa: "Because he manifested his quirk no charges will be filed against you or the boy. I do suggest that the boy stay away from the school for awhile, a week maybe two tops. And since you have such a concern over the boys quirk I can get a Quirk Counselor to help the boy under-"
Hokori: "No. This boy has dishonored the family and embarrassed us as a result. This is a family matter that I must do."
The doctor looked absolutely shocked at what he had just happened. He wanted to protest but he knew he couldn't as technically Quirk Counseling was an optional part of Elementary School. The old man looked at the boy in an almost pained expression but then turned to the man and gave him some papers neatly stacked inside a folder.
Tsubasa: "This is the analysis of his quirk as well as information on what to do in order to aid the child in case an event like what happened at school happens again."
Hokori: "Thank you, have a good day."
The worn out man grabbed the child roughly and started to drag him out of the hospital. The child yelped in pain but his father seemingly did not care. He looked towards Dr.Tsubasa, only to see a deep scowl under the industrial goggles, aimed directly at his father. The freak was practically thrown into the car and it quickly sped away as the father looked into his rear view mirror to look at the creature. The boy looked to see a stare that could only be described as pure wroth. The eyes were red and narrowed. His face scrunched up and wrinkles had formed all through his forehead, making it looked as though he was decades older.
Fuzen: "D-Daddy am... am I in trouble?"
The abhorred figure studered out, flem and and saliva was practically pouring out of the monster's mouth as his eyes looked and spun around, taunting the senior Tozen.
Hokori: "Yes. So much so that only the wrath of God could find a punishment severe enough for you."
The ride home was in complete silence. Meanwhile, the stout doctor had gone to a back room, away from all other prying eyes, so remote that only he and his master knew of its location. The doctor entered and saw the man he called his lord. All For One. The man's tall built form was covered by a perfectly tailored black suit. His white hair was combed and made into a perfect cut. He turned his head towards the doctor, a sadistic smile growing on his lips.
All For One: "Ah, if it isn't my dear old friend. What took you so long to get here? It's not like you to be late."
"Tsubasa": "Apologies my lord, but I was caught up in my mind. As well as dealing with a rather interesting case."
All For One looked at his long time friend and saw the old doctor was writing down notes furiously as well as talking about a child he assumed to be the subject that had caught his fascination.
All For One: "Hmm, if you are so caught up by one child, their quirk must be rather powerful to cause this much of a fuss."
"Tsubasa": "It is my lord! I've never seen anything like it before! The potential could be limitless!"
The Symbol Of Fear looked at his friend's notes on the child. He quickly realized why his companion had been so disheveled. The quirk could be rather powerful and can have great potential.
"Tsubasa": "If I can schedule an appointment with the child again we can steal his quirk for you! Then we can add it to my latest project! Or Maybe I cou-"
All For One: "No. I have another idea."
The doctor looked at the tall man with confusion emanating from the old man. The two men discussed what to do and what the future outcome from those actions could be. They seemingly didn't notice the eight year old boy sitting and staring at them. His unkempt laughs blue/ hair sprawled out, large bags and scratch marks were all over his face and neck, signs of the child's mistreatment of himself. Hands adorned his body, on his head, neck, shoulders, and arms. He studied them wondering why they were seemingly ignoring him.
